The super rich who employ accountants to use said loopholes are a disgrace, in my humble opinion. I would rather pay the tax than pay accountants, for the benefit of all. I suppose we all different priorities. Capitalism doesn't give a shit about you and yours; you are there to be milked. There is no humanity involved; if it all comes tumbling down (1929 and 2008) you are left with nothing.

What I mean is the argument that 'my pension relies on the stock market' is a lie told by vested interests who put no work in but merely make money from money. Putting your pension contributions into a credit union would mean more for you on your retirement.

Totally disagree with this post, franking credits should not exist ( it is a refund on a tax already paid therefore you say you agree with people not paying taxes) - please explain how it effects poor people? The changes recommended effected those who were benefitting from having a large amount of $'s in the first place. If people paid their taxes we would be better off as you said.

If you were in a position to hold onto your shares through the great depression, you came back out of it very nicely.
Those who were leaping from buildings had highly geared their share purchases, their loans were defaulting and they were forced to sell their portfolio's for chicken feed.

The Franking credits are a refund on the tax, but the actual dividends are taxable.
If its going into your bank account and you didn't get the credit, the government has taxed that money twice. I'm not happy about the government taxing things twice, though we do it with excise as well.

But then if its a super account it doesn't get taxed twice unless the super needs to be taxed.

Rather than a credit, it would make more sense if money made from franked dividends was tax "deductible".

A point worth expanding on, about 6 years ago an old mate, (who has since passed on), was getting deeper into franking credits and fully franked dividends, after setting up, he was complaining about the extra $17,000 bill from his accountant and he had the grace to admit that it had saved $70,000 on his tax bill, remember that extra cost to his accountant was a one off, but the saving would continue year after year. Now that extra $70,000 becomes money he can reinvest for income and also becomes a debit against total tax revenue of the government that has to be found somewhere else.

A lot of the Tax talk is just rubbish as both sides in government tax at the same level of GDP, of about 21% the only difference is who they tax.

Now my entire income wasn't then and isn't now $70,000 and the idea that I'd find $17K for an accountant is just laughable, and that's the crux of the issue, even if I can access it I already don't make enough to justify the outlay. If I don't do it I fall behind relative to wealthier people, if I do do it I, the cost is higher than the return therefore I fall even further behind, either way it's a benefit to wealthier people than me.

Up to the governments to make them pay their taxes. Don’t know about you but nearly every person I know tries to minimise their taxes. Rich or poor. No person is going to give the government money if the stupid rules allow them not to.

They're been in the zone for decades prior to this, but yep, back when we, as in some friends, were going to history seminars and the like re revolutionary periods in history, they were always the "backroom support" for perceived ideological "supremacy" archetypes, ie Democracy over red devils who deserve death or incarceration, Communism.

There are kingmakers with the idea to insert capable individuals to improve things and build upon history, and there are kingmakers with designs to destroy what came before and create puppets or a narrative, they are firmly in the latter category.

England aren't that much better, but I give them a pass since ancestory wise I'd not exist without their penal colony ways back in the day, even if Republic is preferential, not that half arsed shit in the 90's.

I remember reading Hidden Agendas when I was young. I thought he must have been a mad conspiracy theorist until I did some research on his claims. He's like a non digital Assange. He's almost too depressing to read though.
