I remember reading Hidden Agendas when I was young. I thought he must have been a mad conspiracy theorist until I did some research on his claims. He's like a non digital Assange. He's almost too depressing to read though.

John Pilger seriously you have to be kidding, utopia is a classic example of the quality of his work absolutely laughable.

Yeah sometimes the Truth is pretty hard going ....people expecting the downtrodden to be allowed
to rise are kidding themselves in my opinion.

Like Pilger because regardless of getting death threats ....he is fearless , admire Snowden and
Assange ....all have lifted the lid on the real News ..rather than propaganda being extolled by
self interest...love Chomsky & Chris Hedges too , again 2 people who have had their lives threatened
over long period of time by the powerful in USA.

So if you're rich enough to be able to spend between $150K and $750K on a "renovation" then you are entitled to a govt handout - FMD this is so so wrong!!!

this came up in a group chat with my mates. all of us are looking at renos but smaller type improvements. anything bigger and we'd probably just sell and buy another place.

we loved the news of this occurring thinking we could get a bit of cash back when keeping local people employed. then the details came out and we laughed our asses off.

a 150k buy in for 25k is just absurd. like what's the point? the only people who will bite at that are those who already have a new house in the works or those who were already going to do it. so all you are doing is subsiding what was always going to happen.

also who in the hell spends a 150k on a reno, isn't it more cost effective to just buy up?

We did a massive Reno about 4 or 5 years ago, it was expensive but $25000 would have just meant we probably would have upgraded a few big ticket purchase items, not changed any trades that we had done.

I assume you did not hire Trout for your trading Gringo! Big mistake man! He would have done it for you on the cheap.
He could have downgraded all big ticket items and sold them for a couple of bucks!

Only problem is the family would have grown to hate his choices and got rid of them all within a year or two!
What is the great imposter up to these days?

Essendon cut him when the Covid hit. He'd be up for some painting or renovating.

The lockdown mullet is no more. I borrowed my brother's clippers, so, from collar length locks I've gone to number number two all over. I look like a POW, but it will grow back
Reviving the english sharpie scene from the 80's i see my man. Your a brave man. You realise the mullet can give you special powers Sampson style
Your messing with the gods now my friend, i wish you luck. May it grow back for you as quick as a Bruno Fernandes through ball!

It was like shearing a sheep: a carrier bag full.

Just when you thought the President of the USA couldn't lower his standards any further - he does!!!!!

"Buffalo protester shoved by Police could be an ANTIFA provocateur," Trump wrote. "75 year old Martin Gugino was pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment. @OANN I watched, he fell harder than was pushed. Was aiming scanner. Could be a set up?"

I fear the worst is yet to come. The shit will really hit the fan in America when someone combines Trump's quasi-fascism with a brain and articulacy. Some very dangerous people will be watching him and biding their time. Trump may prove a facilitator for a truly apocalyptic president.

Corporations and the mega rich have infiltrated or sponsored the political system to do their bidding.

Got that right

Did you watch Years and Years? It made the UK look just as vulnerable to a despotic criminal populist. It was as bleak as **** but a pretty good show.

Road To Now last night talked about Erdogan and Turkey - democratically elected - but his path to autocratic control is following predictable lines - populist promises coupled with an assault on the media.

and your place is the centre of the Universe for finance corruption.

Yes, the obsession with making "the City of London attractive as a global financial centre" means allowing corruption to go unpunished. Those who demand more governance and transparency are demonised as 'anti-business and anti-jobs'. :expressionless:

International finance is a cabal, which, we are told works the benefit of all. Utter bullshit; it's a self-serving club of the anonymous mega-rich, scratching each other's backs and hoarding the wealth earned by billions of others.
