Each to their own. I like Jeff. Great sense of humour a seems like a good bloke. I vote liberal or no one. Might explain my liking him. Won’t be voting for the new guy but could never vote for the lanky hunchback so it’s a donkey vote next election unless things change in a big way.

12 security guards doing hotel quarantine in Sydney have been sacked for breaches. WTF is wrong with people, surely after watching Vic **** it up HQ, you would have the hotel quarantine security as tight as a drum. Victoria were dumb, if NSW don't learn from our mistakes then I'm not sure what to call them.

So not using ADF either

It doesn’t take much to qualify to work security it’s another ram them through and take the money short training course.

I know young guys who have worked as security at hospitals the big race meetings etc. At the races they spent a fair amount of time taking numbers given to them by young women chatting them up. Anyway clearly suitably qualified people to run quarantine and supervise all aspects of the operation is what’s required.

It really shouldn’t be this difficult but if you’re at home to Mr ****-up which we clearly were then expect things to keep going badly wrong.

I think the ADF mostly do the transporting. Security watch them and are meant to manage meals, exercise etc. After Vic you would think you'd use police or government workers at least something so that you don't get what we got. The security companies use casuals and don't want to pay for training so just get any one in and hope they don't **** it up.

Even the churches are as greedy as **** and are more interested in money than human life. The human species is doing it best to devolve.

Triggered, I started on an epic rant but decided not to let’s just leave it at infuriating.

Not only. Friend’s sister in HQ in Sydney had a soldier stationed pretty much outside her door. This was a couple of months ago already.

Highly recommend this one to watch might give some perspective on the real world .

They have, they monitored their security guards were doing and sacked the ones who needed sacking.

I was close school friends with family members and they think he's an a-hole. We know a few people on both sides of politics in vic and anyone who was around in his day seems to have nothing positive to say about him. He's apparently aiming to come back as premier as well according to some and has been white anting O'Brien with the help of some Lib power brokers. O'Brien is a squib but at least he hasn't run his race already, surely they have more than Jeff to put up.

He was the right person at the time he got in. He got some solid achievements fast, despite pissing off a lot of people and trampling on some toes.
But hell , surely we don't want him back. We've moved on.

My daughter ( currently studying a degree ) works in pubs. She's done first aid, liquor handling , will be doing gaming. All of it just ticking the boxes. She says that within the industry security is considered ridiculously easy to get. She also says she's never met a male security guard who wasn't "flirty".

He was a Thatcherite, sold all our utilities and public lands and gave handouts to business associates who blew it on personal wealth initiatives. I've never been a fan of asset sell offs, it's the greatest con politicians ever pulled. All we got out of selling off everything that wasn't nailed down was some cheese stick sculpture over the road we gave to an overseas interest to toll and a big under utilised shed that was an architectural affront from day one. Also gave the Crown casino land over and legalised gambling that costs more for the government than it earns them. He was an absolute **** up. It's like when someone tells you that you have a big mortgage so you need to firesafe your house to them and rent it back at an exorbitant price. We were played and the campaigner struts around like he's an expert at something other than pilfering.

It's completely unregulated. There was a TV segment on a couple of years back, might have been 4 Corners. The security is mostly casuals who bear all the responsibility and get screwed over on wages. It attracts people from overseas that can't find other work and people with lower employment opportunities. No-one regulates them so it's just a lucky dip of what you'll get. They do a short course that tells them not to do dumb stuff and that's about it.

And yet still today they have more HQ cases in NSW. I think it might be partly bad luck, NSW have the hindsight to not **** it up as badly luckily for them. Once you get outbreaks it's really hard to contain and exponential cases start from one source. In an ideal world we would still have quarantine stations like we did at Portsea where the sick could be contained in this kind of situation.

This is what they planned (for years) as the cheapest option and designed to keep businesses hard hit operating. It's like a toe dipped in public health and another in free enterprise.

We have modelled pandemics for a long time and it's the one agreed on. Politicking is taking over from rational thought processes and it's aided by a salacious media more keen to pick a drama than serve public health. Pollies and media are openly willing people to ignore public health experts in the name of politics and viewing audiences.

Stupid people are to simple to think and will probably be picked out of the gene pool because of these equally dumb or irresponsible people.

He also wanted to sack clarko because his ego could not handle him being the reason why the Hawks won.

It worked at the time , it gave us a kick start.
Despite some decent ideological changes John Cain had some very dubious economic theories, he had government departments taking out loans to pay dividends to the State government. ( and he stopped the expansion of VFL park ). When the recession hit, Victoria was already in a bad way.
Cain jumped ship, pushed out by his own party, and Kirner did nothing but maintain the status Quo for the following two years.
Kirner actually sold busses and trams and leased them back. Yes that's just as dumb as selling your car then renting it off the guy who bought it.

Kennett was never personally popular and he's probably a bigger prick than Cain , Kirner, or Bracks, but he did get the results that were needed at the time.

I stumbled across these on the Port Adelaide forum
There a twisted bunch over there and I like that!

Son: "Dad, I've fallen in love with the most beautiful girl"

Father: "That's great, son! Who is she?"

Son: "It's Sandra, the neighbor's daughter."

Father: "Ohhh, I wish you hadn't said that. I have to tell you something, son, but you must promise not to tell your mother. Sandra is actually your sister."

The boy is naturally bummed out, but a couple of months later:

Son: "Daddy, I fell in love again and she is even hotter!"

Father: "That's great, son! Who is she?"

Son: "It's Angela, the other neighbor's daughter."

Father: "Ohhh, I wish you hadn't said that. Angela is also your sister."

This went on a few more times, and finally the son was so mad, he went straight to his mother crying.

Son: "Mum, I am so mad at dad! I fell in love with six girls and I can't date any of them because dad is their father!"

The mother hugs him affectionately and says, "You can date whoever you want. He's not your father!"

I definitely think selling any government assets to rent back is stupid no matter which party does it. Government debt is not really an issue despite what they tell you in the media. We never had less assets than debt. A complicit media spruiked debt recovery as a reason to do it. The real reason that everything got privatised is that the US and world bank wanted international free trade unencumbered by competition that doesn't need to make profit and threatened that we'd be isolated if we didn't play along. Our Australian state governments just joined in on the action because they had financial backers who wanted the assets on the cheap so both of them complied.

Government Debt certainly was an issue, the interest payments back then were astronomical, and our credit rating was plummeting.

But its true some stuff is bad in private hands.
If you want to buy an Australian Standard, or even an International Standard, get it online from New Zealand, at least 10% cheaper than the same ones from SIO Global, our official supplier.
Many of the local Standards are AS/NZ Standards. I'm sure the price difference used to be higher a few years ago though.

No need for depression. Losing is better than this covid sh*t. I may kill dan this month.

Melbournians are idiots. If we don't all get it it will be a miracle. At the racecourse yesterday people were hanging in groups talking with their masks down and walking in the areas where they are trying to regenerate the lawns just because they can. I told someone that they were trying to keep people off and they told me to **** off and that no one is there to stop them it like that's okay. Because one person did it others followed. We are super dumb, we're going to thin the gene pool here. We might as well open back up and lose the masks.

Our poster from WA cops a bit sometimes, but i reckon he gets a fair bit right

DOCKERS’ PART WAYS WITH CONDITIONING BOSS

Player agent Colin Young‘s often tense relationship with Fremantle over its handling of his clients’ injury and conditioning management will ease given the club’s decision to part ways with strength and conditioning boss Jason Webber.

Young, who has a significant number of Fremantle clients on his books, has long been critical of the Dockers‘ injury rehabilitation and prevention.

Young said late last year: “I have serious concerns on how the club rehabilitates its players (and) it‘s my opinion that this area of the club needs an immediate review.”

“Immediate changes need to be made or the club is going nowhere.”

His concern in recent times centred on defender Joel Hamling‘s ankle injuries which has already required two surgeries, with another one already scheduled.

there's so much more to this story to. Player managers very very rarely speak up unless they're backed into a position where they need to for their clients.

12 months later and he's saying exactly the same things he said on Bennell, just change the players name.

it's alarming it took Colin Young to intervene and find a solution for Bennell's calf issues. a bloke without a medical degree. how many people do Freo have on the books who couldn't get that one diagnosed, actioned and rehabilitated.

that club has and i can't stress this enough VERY SERIOUS ISSUES when it comes to player management.

i'm surprised the Lobb story wasn't bigger than it was.

oh and their handling of their past list boss would have been front page news if they were even remotely relevant to the rest of the comp.
