Is there any way of hiding/ignoring threads just like you can with users?

Scrolling through everyday and constantly seeing the Paddy vs Petracca thread is doing my head in.
Yes if you have a user on ignore and they start a thread, you won't see it.

Alright I’ve had enough. Can’t work in the safest job you could possibly have for COVID and now just saw on channel on cox plate and gf day I have to watch it on my own. Fancy the friends restrictions ends 2 days later. Enough is friggin enough. And to those who are saying that I’m selfish and there is worse people off than me well stuff you. I am selfish. I need to interact especially on a day like gf day

The problem is in the press conference on Sunday not once did he say the dates could change. Also we have certain lockdown until the 28th and it will go to stage 3 if we have between 30 and 50 cases for 14 days before. We may have those numbers this week but because it’s only 7 days nothing happens. Imo the longer lockdown and stage 3 is the less effective The longer it is. I can only go by numbers on the road and the local shopping strip but there are more cars now than the start of stage 3 four months ago. More and more people are taking less and less notice of this. It’s lockdown fatigue. You wait until stage 3 starts. It will look like a normal day on the road.

I hate this stuff.

First he was criticised for doing too much. Now when he does too much people want him to end the lockdown.

I have my own views on COVID which is probably a separate matter, but Dan Andrews has handled it as best as he possibly could IMO.

Yep ...Do not listen to this.

Really? What about how the second wave started? It’s basically been proven 99% of cases are from hotel quarantine. If that never starts we are most likely like nsw. I thought Andrews did a very good job in the first wave but I think the second wave is all on their government and now we have certain rules about working that make no sense.

I think its to do with police resources.
I haven't been out west, but the numbers in the worst areas there are coming down, while its chugging along statically in a lot of the less affected areas, 2 people get better, 2 new people get it.
To me that suggests that they are policing the worst area's, and will get to the others when they become the worst areas.

Just a pity that as a population we are so stupid that we need the police. Dragging it out and at the same time complaining about it.
I'd have expected it from my kids before they turned 12.
"I wanna go for a day trip!!!. "
" When did you last go on one? "
"2018 but now i wanna go on one? "
" But you can't you caught Corona virus at an illegal party and even if you didn't we are locked down. "
"BUT I WANT IT NOOWWWW!!!! "

We're a few points up but we really need a few more goals before its safe to slow it down.

You were correct about the useless Covid app as well. Has not found one single case that was not already known.

As for Andrews, he made plenty of stuff ups, so did Gladys Binchicken, and also Morrison, however the pile on as Faine says is appalling. Business demands we reopen, will they take responsibility when a third wave hits and kills hundreds more and incapacitates hundreds more.

Norman Swan said today research shows young people who gets this have a much higher risk of heart failure as they get older as the heart muscle and those around it are weakened by this. There was a young bloke on ABC this morning who 6 months after contracting covid is still very ill and has severe respiratory problems. it is not just the mortality, but the ongoing effects.

Also a Herald Sun poll showed 70% of Victorians approve of the handling of this by Andrews. Maybe the right don't like the fact that Andrews is trying to minimise the harm maybe they think #healthoverwealth is the not necessary.

To me I'd rather rip the band-aid off quickly not draw it out for months. If it takes 2 more weeks to pretty much remove it. It's a better situation than what's happening all around the world where they flare up all the time and it locks down, unlocks repeatedly. Eventually they'll just give up and kill people there.

Norman Swan is the most reliable information source outside the governments own health advisers and he thinks NSW were lucky not well managed and doesn't think what we are doing is the wrong method. It's hard to endure but 2 more weeks instead of month of trying to stick fingers in the dam wall sounds okay to me now. Just knock the campaigner out and get on with life in a much more manageable way.

I really hate politicians on both sides trying to point score in a health crisis, it's about as low and grubby as politics gets. Our federal health minister has disgraced himself where he should be backing public health officials to do their job. All he's doing is making Victorians more anxious and undermining confidence when he should be doing what he's paid for not trying to play politics. Chalmers for federal Labor bagging the economic management in a simplistic way looks trashy too.

I agree. The Quarantine caused the "only" wave, and it was the responsibility of the Government. But if a dam breaks and the water is heading towards the village , its best to wait before we lynch the Mayor who was in charge.

But we had a safety net in place ( Phase 2 /3 ) and people were ignoring it. We were never meant to be having huge family gatherings. We were never meant to drive all over the countryside. I partly blame the government for that. They went from over enforcing the initial restrictions to not enforcing them as we were coming out.

Last Wednesday 10 postcodes had more than 50 active cases each. Now only 4 have 50 active cases.

What about mental health. I’m shocked it’s still 70%. Nearly every single person that I knew as a labor person is pissed off with him at the moment.

Good point. Read the same post 4 months ago. How is that going now?

Totally correct, it actualy came from a family of four who breached security for their own benefit. It caught hold in the muslim community around the end of ramadan and that was that.
So that happens do we just sit with our thumbs up our arse lamenting it or we we stamp it out? We let it get out of control we have the following
Hundreds of deaths - occurred because the Federal government stuffed aged care. Only stopped when the State govt sent in RN's into these PRIVATE aged care facilities.
Hospital system overrun - so you get a sickness or have an accident that requires immediate hospitalisation. No room, all full of thousands and thousands of covid infected patients. My sister in law had a blood clot in may. needed immediate hospitalisation. If the system is overrun we would be burying her.
Ongoing health issues - covid is not a mild cold or flu for many. it can have lasting respiratory repercussions. Now young people may have their lives shortened because this illness leads to heart failure later in life.

Look all this is easy for me to say, I haven't lost my income like you and many others, easy when you can pay your bills and nothing has changed, but unless we follow the science, and the experts, we will be back in this position in 2 months. I don't think anybody can stand another lockdown.

I'm in business and eating my own savings not taking any hand outs. I would rather get back as close to normal as possible even if it takes a few more weeks. It would really hurt if you owned a big hospitality venue or something but with big profits come big risks. You can make a fortune and lose a fortune very quickly in that game without COVID.

I know a few people in business that are really struggling and others who managed to find little niches to make some decent money. One guy I know ended up with a whole new branch to his business that he'll keep going. Tough times can knock you over or make you tougher. Lots were already on the margins and will die because they were already a shit business model.

If you are spreading the virus, you are probably ignoring the restrictions.
Why would we expect such people to have the Covid app. That's surely the main reason it failed.

Millennial Think Tank...
Q :"What can we do about this problem"?
A: " Uhhh can we make an app"?

I don’t care about my income. I care about working. Mowing a lawn is one of the safest jobs you could have but once that crazy Jim guy threatened Andrews he like all politicians was never going to back down and use common sense about some jobs. As I said this lockdown in keeping people at home seems to be working worse than the start of stage3 four months ago. It’s lockdown fatigue and if you stuff up once why not twice

Suicides have not increased as per a report from the coroner last week. Calls to mental health help is up, which in a way is a good thing, it means more people are reaching out but not doing something terrible.

Funnily enough most people I know are pissed off at people who have no medical background telling us to reopen.

The numbers of cases do not reflect that. You say you read Gringo's post four months ago. We got the numbers down, then we had the likes of Bolt, and the other right wingers pressuring Andrews to open up. he did so and when the second wave came, the genie was out of the bottle.

Now they want him to open up again. Will they take responsibility for the next wave, the sickness, the death? Do they even care about our community? All they care about is money?

You must get into more in depth conversations. All my what’s apps groups just come back with this guy is a **** wit and dan is not the man anymore. I mean seriously why would stage 3 go 2 days after the grand final and cox plate yet give us a day off a day before the grand final because we deserve it. Well we deserve to be able to watch the grand final with a couple of friends also.

I don’t care about anything bolt says and I’m doubting Andrews does either. He opened up because the numbers were low not because of pressure from right wing fruit loops.

and I don’t want him to open up. I want a more sensible program.

Same eating into the savings big time it will be 28th when i can work again which will be 8 weeks without any income and another 2 to 3 weeks before payments start coming. I will get through it but its just frustrating as we shouldn't be in this position, also go for my daily walk yesterday and there are council mowers working without a mask on

So your mates reckon O'Brien, the bloke who demanded the economy open in April would have handled it better? God give me strength? We would have hundreds of thousands of cases and thousands under him.

have you seen overseas? The US, Britain, Brazil, they are a complete shambles because they wouldn't tackle the health crisis first.

i am no Morrison fan but he went the totally opposite path with pretty good success.

As for your rant on holidays, you want to give away gazetted public holidays? And who says you wont be able to watch the GF with a couple of friends? Thats two months away, we might be all dead by then.
