Ben Shapiro said that there is no need to worry about rising sea levels impacting coastal house prices, because if they start going underwater their owners can just sell them.

He ain't the sharpest tool in the shed, nor does he try to be, he just throws meat to the base.
What does Ben Shapiro have to do with the facts?

Im shocked to learn this is the highest voter turnout in ages - 150 odd million votes in a country of 350mil is mind boggling to me. Do they simpy not care?
I guess so. Not compulsory to vote over there, it's on the candidates to get out and rally for votes.

Do you honestly, genuinely, truly believe that if the election was there to be stolen that Trump wouldn't have pulled out every dirty trick that there is?

What in your mind would lead you to believe that Trump is more likely to be running a clean election?
Have you been following what has happened over the last 12 hours lol.

States don't just swing 135k votes one way. Leads of 15% aren't clawed back. Yet here we are.

If it was a Republican swing it would be odd to see, too. Just because we don't like Trump doesn't mean we can't question it.

We are seeing the death of mainstream media. And those who are brainwashed by it in America are starting to wake up and slowly the same is happening here. Look at the petition Rudd has put together. Biggest in our countries history. LOVE IT!

the only problem with this line of thinking is that the murdoch media has been firmly behind trump

you need to watch two documentaries:
1) america's great divide on SBS which covers US politics from Obamas rise to Trumps rise,
2) the murdoch empire doco on ABC covering ruperts life.

Fox news is america's largest "news" channel, both docos go over the blatant lies they push out on a regular basis

On the contrary I think they care immensely - it's just that less of them care. But the ones that do have a high investment in it. Probably moreso than we do.

If voting were compulsory in the States there is no chance Trump would win.

The people that complain "Not my president" and shit like that - well if yuo cared enough to vote for the other candidate he would be "not your president"

Some things about that country baffle me - this is one of the biggest, second behind their gun laws.

Going for lunch - hope it gets wrapped up today.

Am a Trump supporter but more importantly want a fair election Republican or Democrat. If it is found the Dems win fairly then good luck to them. I just worry for their country. It is like watching a game of footy this election though - swinging back and forth, very close.

Trump hate gets so boring, wish the conversation would be objective and with the facts presented. Did make comment earlier Trump had won, because it had looked that way last night before the very unusual swing of MI and now PA. American elections have been rigged before so lets not assume this one isn't - it's probably the most important one in that nations history. Republican OR Democrat. But to say it isn't rigged at all...c'mon, lol.

An 135,000 vote turnaround is due to a pandemic? Sorry what? Republicans historically place more votes on Election day, too. Not too sure what you're talking about.

Look at its content not the person posting it, wish we could try and discuss objectively. Silly to think there's no voter fraud or even attempts at it in every election Trump or no Trump.

There have been countless studies and federal investigations into this at every level of government.

There has never been any evidence that there is voter fraud on either side anywhere near what would be considered a statistically significant factor. Do you know what the punishment is for fraudulent voting? few people are going to risk being imprisoned for a vote which has a one in a trillion chance of being a factor.

Also, surely the rampant election fraud committed by each side should cancel each other out no?

Not sure it's all one way, they are the ones that called AZ in Biden's favour prematurely. Anyway plenty of media in Biden's favour so even with Fox somewhat impartiality he is still heavily up against it.

Fox didn't want Trump to win the Republican nomination. They were against him until it became clear he was going to win that race. They only back him because he's a Republican, not because the Fox channel actually like him. Some do, sure. But overall that Channel is more anti-democrat than pro Trump.

there is some truth to this. Rupert did not want Trump. Rupert hated Trump.

however, the guy in charge of Fox loved Trump, to the point he was briefing him behind Ruperts back. Then it became apparent Trump was going to role Jeb Bush, so Rupert had no choice (also due to the whole UK shit), but to go along for the ride. He's never looked back since.

Because each fraud is the exact same amount of votes? Huh?

As an Australian.
I'm a neither supporter.
Don't give a crap if it drags on for weeks.

Murdoch backs whoever he thinks will make his companies prosper.
Whether he "likes" them or not is probably irrelevant.

i've lived there, the problem the states have is that there is no central media like there is here.

we have a limited number of traditional sources: ABC, SBS, 9, CBS, 7. Rupert then controls all the print media pretty much.

in the US it's a free for all and it's state by state/city by city.

but you can't deny the influence Fox has, which has been proven over two decades now. it pumps out fear to a base that is hard wired to receive it.

the bigger issue we have now though from a media stand point IMO isn't so much rupert or print media or TV, it just our access to information via the internet.

at first this was an amazing thing, it meant we could get the "truth" at a click of the button. everything was fact based pretty much. which created problems for those in power who were doing the wrong thing. but they've worked it out, all you do now is pump the medium full of misinformation and then no one knows what is right or wrong anymore.

Rupert/Fox/Trump they get this, if you pump it full of crap, people won't know any better and that's how you end up with this MAGA bullshit, where people believe Obama was born overseas or Biden is a pedo and so on.

Because each fraud is the exact same amount of votes? Huh?

Well if you round them up to the nearest .001 of a percent, then yes. Both sides will have 0 voting fraud.

Were you not paying attention when every statistician came out and advised that the blue swing would happen late.

If they started counting the ballots the day before it would have looked like a huge lead to Biden was being pegged back by Trump.

I know you're sick of the Trump hate, but that doesn't mean you need to believe him when there is greater evidence to the contrary.

THIS.WAS.ALWAYS.GOING.TO.BE.HIS.STRATEGY

Nothing Trump has done is new, he has been recycling tactics used by populist leaders for literally millennia.

Publicity stunt, they're probably paying out $50k and will get $200k worth of advertisement because of it.
Yep. The amount of publicity the Cameron Smith payout got will pale into insignificance if Trump somehow gets up.

Look at how the media in that country has riled people up to such a point that they are basically in a civil war now. It is disgraceful. My issue is actually the misrepresentation of the facts and the purposeful misreporting of events. It is them who have divided that country.

i agree with this 100%. again you need to watch the great divide documentary, it goes over how the republicans and democracts had a strong working relationship. this fell down when clinton took the nomination but then got back to business as normal, only to then go down the path we have today from the tea party/sarah palin movement. since then it's been an absolute dog fest.

the real issue in america right now is it has too big issues:
- the squeeze on the middle class
- racial tension from the changing demographics

You can talk about silly things Trump has said but it's a weak argument. They talk about racial division caused by Trump - last I checked he wasn't the one who passed a crime bill that incarcerated millions of african americans. What he did do though is pass criminal reform and improve employment across the country for minorities. But nobody talks about that.

this i can't agree with. you can't have a president retweet white supremacist bullshit and expect that to go un-noticed or just washed off like it doesn't matter. it does matter to a lot of americans, because they are minorities. people brush this off that it's just trump speak, the problem is it's incredibly divisive and is intended to be such to appeal to his base.

we need to get back to using the function of government in the right way. the president is not there to run government departments. he's not there to implement policy.

he's pretty much just a spokesperson and the brand, with maybe 2-3 items of policy he thinks will improve the country.

the problem with trump is he is an absolutely horrible spokesperson. he will openly lie. he will adlib stuff that makes him look like an absolute fool. but worse than that, he's prepared to through jarbs out there deliberately meant to hurt, alienate and create divide.

As for the Democrats, they think the American people are stupid. "You aren't black if you don't vote for me" , remember? Constantly pandering for votes by interviewing morons like Cardi B, someone who knows absolutely nothing about politics but has 20 million fans that hang onto her every word so obviously a good way to get a few votes. Biden playing Despacito off his phone and dancing to it in front of a stage at a Hispanic Heritage Month event. It's a disgrace.

But in saying all that, from today's results it looks as though the American people are sick of being treated like that. In the face of unprecedented scrutiny, Trump still wins. For me it's more a win for anti establishment than anything else.

now do Trump is all i can say. there's a good video out there summing up his 4 years. its absolutely insane and it's absolutely mental it's going to end in him trying to uproot the very foundations of democracry.

maybe you answered your own question though: "do they think the americans are stupid?"

hmmmmm

IS this in reference to the supposed mail fraud George? The swings are due to the early and mail counts. Not sure they classify as "unusual"? This has been reported for weeks that it would be the case.

as per the ABC (Australian) live blog.

605,000 outstanding ballots in Arizona - Trump needs to win 58% of those to flip the state.

it will be interesting where those ballots come from. if its the suburbs, he's done.

if he wins arizona by biden takes Pennsylvania is it for nothing though?

320 million people and these two are the best they could come up with. No wonder 35-405 don't vote at all.
If did not vote was a candidate in 2016 they would have had the biggest win in electoral college votes since Regan in 84.

And i reckon did not vote would have shitted it in this election too.
