Trump wasn’t without his good points and accomplishments while also behaving like a fool on occasions, his tweeting was unseemly to me on many occasions.
What were they exactly? Created more jobs sure but at the expense of full time jobs. "Improved" the economy sure, but at the expense of the well being of the entire American working class.

Let's not even mention his unmitigated, catastrophic failure in taking any appropriate action on covid despite literally all of his advisers offering informed courses of action. "It is what it is" right?

I hope your boy & his mates are ok Verdun... what a tragedy.

So very sad.

Thanks mate, not something anyone at any age should have to go through let alone 12. Appreciate your thoughts, young bloke and his mates are as good as can be expected. The family still in shock.

Of all his crazy shit, his choice to suspend members of the CDC that were prepared under previous administrations for pandemic responses to put his son in law in was the most criminal.

After SARS and Ebola the Obama administration pumped money and modelling in to it. People were predicting Trump ****ing up a pandemic as early as 2016 before he evens suspended CDC powers.

He's got a fair bit of blood on his hands due to absolute disregard for expertise in public service. The economy stuff doesn't happen overnight, most stuff takes time to flow through, there was probably an up spike in investment due to big business confidence but jobs don't just appear.

Structural stuff often isn't even on your watch and really has more to do with conditions internally and externally to politics. To me he lead one of the most chaotic and unhinged presidencies ever seen in a first world nation. It was like the world was strapped to the back of a rodeo bull, sure it was exciting but thank **** it looks like it's over....if he doesn't gore us on the way out.

I hope there is some real directional smart grown up politics in the US now, the world needs a stable US and ideally one with some ability to cooperate with and stabilise the rest of the world. Otherwise you are handing over to China with out a whimper, and we see now how much they like to throw their weight around.

I do some work with an organisation called Feel the Magic... they work with kids who are grieving over the loss of a parent or someone close.

www.feelthemagic.org.au

Their programs may be of some use. Especially the grief camps of the young lad has brothers and sisters.

Yang making some good points

The problem with the disenfranchised middle class is that they don't understand the historical context of their nations rise to becoming an economic superpower.

Their manufacturing industry rose to all new heights during WW2 when America spent 3 years deciding it was more profitable to supply the Allies than it is to join the fray. This industrial dominance continued in the wake of Europe's destruction and lasted near 50 years while Europe rebuilt and the manufacturing Asian nations rose to prominence.

The disenfranchised working class have lost their manufacturing jobs, climate change is forcing the increased demand for renewable energies at the expense of traditional mined resources which has seen massive job losses in mining, manufacturing and engineering.

The reason why the Republicans see greater support from the disenfranchised working class is part intertia, but more importantly it is because the Republicans have turned a highly complex, nuanced issue and shoehorned it into a simple enemy... "It was the coastal elites who sold you out".

These people need to realise that the world has moved on. The road coach industry is dead, the railway industry is nothing compared to what it used to be, the gaslight industry is dead, the milk man is gone. This is progress, these things happen.

The Republicans are selling a lie that they can bring back the mid 20th century and it continues to get swallowed up. The democrats need to a vision, they need to sell a future that these people will take up.

This is what happens when extreme right wing disinformation units like the Veritas Project whips up falsehood.

Now this man is in fear of his life and is in hiding.

I didn't say it, the information I quoted says it.

You are fine with lies endangering people, thats up to you.

Hilarious

Project Veritas is an American far-right[4][5][6][7][8][9] activist group founded by James O'Keefe in 2010.[10][11][12][13] The group uses undercover techniques to reveal supposed liberal bias and corruption[10] and is known for producing deceptively edited videos about media organizations, left-leaning groups[14][11][15][16][17][18][19] and debunked conspiracy theories.[11][20][21] In a 2018 book on propaganda and disinformation in U.S. politics, three Harvard University scholars refer to Project Veritas as a "right-wing disinformation outfit"

And guess who funds it :D :D :D :D

Funding and organization
Much of the funding for Project Veritas comes from anonymous donations through Donors Trust, a conservative, American nonprofit donor-advised fund backed by the Koch brothers, which according to its promotional materials, says that it will "keep your charitable giving private, especially gifts funding sensitive or controversial issues".[186][187] Prominent donors have included the Trump Foundation, which donated $10,000 in May 2015.[188][189]

Couldn't make this sh*t up.

Who in their right mind would use this as a credible source :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

George Peta campaignerlin somehow still does not get the hang of being a journo

Fox News services aren't news though. It's commentary so it doesn't really rely on actual facts. Credlin is a piece of work, my wife has friends who worked with her before she got the gig as Tony Abbott's mistress in charge. They said she was a pretty much what she comes across like in public.

Jesus, 1 in 20 kids will lose a parent before 17. Is that for real, that's scarily high.

What are the likes of Trump trying to "conserve"?

This wasn't a an election of progressives vs conservatives... It was progressives reluctantly siding with one group of conservatives to defeat a slightly different group of conservatives who had sold their soul to align with radical while nationalists.

You invite JB to prove you wrong, but what you are really doing is asking him to make you realise you're wrong which is simply impossible. There is no resource he can provide that you wouldn't dismiss as fake news or elitists blah blah blah.

It would be like NASA opening up all their records from the moon landings. They will provide the original audio and video recordings as well as the returned samples and their analyses... But deniers couldn't be pleased by that, because NASA are obviously going to provide fabricated evidence.

You have taken a non-falsifiable stance that is rejected by every major academic institution.

Joe Biden says he's built most extensive "voter fraud" org in history .. ;)

Just on that,I know that's just edited up but it's worth fact checking most videos you watch. Deep fake tech is getting incredibly realistic. It's so easy to fake up a famous person doing anything now.

Luckily with Biden and Trump, they do a good enough job themselves without needing to deep fake 😂

When I was younger I saw an old W class hit a car and derail. It would take some pulling power to get it back on tracks.

Depending on how bad they either jack it up and move it over or get the R10 recovery truck to drag it back on.

What are you trying to prove? That you're attempting to artificially shift the overton window? Congratulations I guess.

This is an article that resonates with me ... Biden will win but where to from here for America.

I think he's probably right, Trump is going to throw a few grenades on his way out as well. I still think Biden will have a mountain of work just to try to regain control. Jobs are going and unrest will continue to build.

That's the thing, the window constantly moves. Pauline Hanson moved the window and changed discourse. Howard was either willing or forced to move with it. Trump will have shoved the window considerably.
