Any NFL fans in here?
Brees putting on an absolute clinic with my other Saints! :nflsaints:
Been an Eagles fan for 21 yrs

Brees has almost thrown more TD's than incompletions, lol.

Best part about WFH is the US sports, need to get a tv for the work office...for improved efficiency... yeah.
You wouldn't regret it! We have a nice big tv on the wall in the office and my NBA and NFL league pass accounts get a massive workout all year around.

Might have been a joke about productivity but I personally think it's better than all the sports mad people in the office watching it anyway on hidden tabs haha

First time in years I've been able to watch every game of our season live. It's beautiful (minus the shit on-field).

I think it is easy to have false equivalences though (eg. they are all just as bad as each other).

I thought Malcolm Turnbull made some really good points when talking about the murdoch press on insiders yesterday. He said they have essentially become a vehicle for political propaganda. He contrasted this with the Guardian, which although is pretty clearly left leaning, don't make stuff, don't engage in vendettas, don't encourage conspiracy theories, don't cover up the misdeeds of their friends in politics or hammer vindictively those regarded as their enemies. He said that this can't be said about news corp anymore.

We need to be able to agree about basic facts and in my opinion, the murdoch press (fox included), engages far too often in bad faith and misinformation.

I agree that MSNBC, CNN etc. all have serious flaws. But seriously, what the hell is this bs, it is just the dumbest sh*t ever:

When do we get a real ICAC? The campaigners are out of control.

Trump wasn't even wanted by the GOP but managed to get the nomination ahead of the anointed Jeb Bush. hence why the Clintons and Bush families suddenly found common ground
Trump destroying Jeb in 2016 was a sight to behold and also Jeb saying please clap was also a campaign killer

Trump in the Republican primaries in 2016 was bloody entertaining he made that party his bitch pretty much.

They second they get jettisoned and a potato gets to sit in the chair.

It at least can be used for something of benefit, like a conduit for electricity, it'll find value in an ICAC right before incineration to be matched to whatever the shit Bronwyn had flown in from the east and "forgot" about at 400% its cost...

I'm not too worried about the Thales stuff.
They have been so efficient at building those vehicles that we are likely to be the manufacturing base for many overseas contracts.
Add it all up, it will be cost effective.

Luckily God is on Trump's side.

I am not the most familiar with the christan faith but I somehow think that they all go against Jesus.

But then again Jesus in america would have an Uzi, 9mm, 12gage shotgun, McMansion and a absurdly big pickup truck

Funny you say that....Here's a video of various public figures deriding COVID measures (some doubting it's existence), but my favourite - video starts at the right time...

Also I found this video by searching 'video bible gun pickup truck'

Sounds like it came straight out of the mouth of Jesus himself.

Christian Porter assassinated himself the moment his aided and abetted the 30 billion lawsuit against his own state.

It was more on his sexism and affairs. Tudge got a kick too. Both family values types that's values were for others. Porter was off his **** in his uni days. For a guy doing law he didn't realise that you never write anything down that you don't want to show up later. My Freo mate's dad was a well connected Liberal in Perth, similar age to Porter, I'll try to get some goss on him.

Hope everything is okay mate.

Read your post the other day and then took a bit of time away from this thread but also just here in general. Feel like I can contribute positively now. Work in progress for me but I need to continue to be better at stopping myself getting caught up in the back and forth when it comes to very polarising topics because (and this is just me) I take it personally when I know I shouldn't. At least that's how I tend to read it.

Just gets too frustrating. Two complete opposite sides of a spectrum arguing with each other over points that the other won't concede. It is pointless in a way.

Something that will never change my view on the current political climate in America is how much we talk about it in here, so for me personally there's no point for me to continue discussing it. I already get enough of this rhetoric in the papers and on TV every day.

My final comment re: politics - I will not respond or take issue with anyones opinion regarding it, and will be the last I will say - Want to close the book on this and feel like I need to clarify my position as to not give off the wrong impression to others that may have thought differently;

First and foremost I am a swing voter, I look at both policies and then decide on who I agree with most. That is regardless of election, regardless of party and regardless of country. I think IMO that is the most logical way to form a view. This election specifically for me was more anti-Biden than pro-Trump. We as a society are inundated with left wing media coverage so for me I look at centrist and sometimes right wing news to get a better balance and perspective.

Regardless of candidate though what I am more worried about however is mainstream media and how they control the narrative. In 2016 they said Russia was involved in the rigging of the election, but now in 2020 fraud never happens. This is not to say I agree with the statement but this is just a small example of how at the end of the day the candidate the media wants in, gets in. And it happens almost every time. I cannot remember the last time a candidate won an election despite disapproval from mainstream media. Please tell me if I am mistaken.

MM's divide and conquer strategy has been their MO for the past four years to what I can only see as trying to remove one person from office and put a new one in. Maybe it actually goes deeper than that, I guess we will now find out. One of the biggest issues in America right now is racial division. Ask yourselves - does the mainstream help or hinder the efforts to quell racial tension in America? Do they report on all serious crimes, or are they selective? For me - Firstly, they will be selective in their delivery of the news. They will report 95% of the time on white on black crime. They will continue to push this narrative and then when something like George Floyd happens - a disgraceful murder that has no place in any society - the foundations for the public to erupt have already been built. They have been slowly drip-fed a misrepresentation of what is happening in their communities and because they control the narrative they have power over the viewer. They don't mention that more white Americans are killed by police officers per year, and they don't mention the black on black or black on white crime. And if they do, it pales in comparison to the coverage that helps push their narrative.

Lastly, please don't perceive me as one of those pro-Trump lunatics on social media. At the end of the day we will be fine if Biden ends up in office, and honestly as long as there's no wars erupting I'm cool with that. My issue with the current way of things is bigger than Biden v Trump. Power structures beyond them need to be broken down and we need to find new ways to function as a society. Regardless of what you think of Trump I think he has challenged many of these structures, and if proven to be true regarding this fraud fiasco, it will open up pandora's box on the inner workings of a system that needed to be changed a long time ago. We are in a new time, and we need new practices, new structures, and new framework under which we live.

Again hope you are okay V and if anyone wants to respond to anything political I've said here please just PM me because I won't be responding in this thread on this topic any further.

Cheers :thumbsu::thumbsu:
Not trying to draw you into further discussion. Apologies if i'm being annoying. Just thought you might find this interesting.

These guys do a pretty good job of running through most of the examples that people give of voter fraud (the whole show is pretty good tbh and my favourite american politics podcast). Obviously, the courts are deciding and will decide these issues but there is are generally good explanations for the various issues (although charlie kirk and ben shapiro probably won't say that).
