As someone else said, how can you be surprised he was investigated for foreign collusion when he literally asked Russia on international television to interfere in the election and had suspicious meetings with Russian officials both in Russia and in Trump tower? Let's remember that he was never cleared of Russian collusion, they simply said there wasn't enough evidence to find him guilty. It's still not a good look and it is infinitely more suspicious than "big pharma suppressing hydroxychloroquine" or 98% of the rest of Trump's deranged theories.

Russia definitely meddled with the election it's just not certain Trump actually had anything to do with them or they acted independently. They are putting a lot of the same effort into Black Lives Matter at the moment. The Russians set up troll factories in Africa to stir up domestic trouble in the US. I'm not sure the Russians want Trump in because they are getting paid or want to do it just to make a destabilised US. I had seen stories about the BLM Russian link before but before the election literally 90% of the Trump stuff on facebook was commented on by people in Africa and on both sides of the debate. Also quite a lot of Indians commenting.

Can agree with your first point. Heard it from Biden himself. What do you mean by a numbers perspective? By the amount of press each have received? I'd say it's probably 80/20 bad press towards Trump but that happens when you have left media.

I think a bit of that was Biden knowing that there are certain taboos in the US, gun control and anything that looks like depriving people of personal liberties like forcing them to wear masks would be so catastrophically unpopular they have to side step the issues. I think if they'd followed a basic pandemic plan that had been drawn up under previous governments the whole outcome would have been different. Trump had his son in law overruling the body set up for pandemic responses. Even if a rock had been in charge the outcome was likely to be better.

having lived there, so many people just don't vote, because they have to find time during the work day to do it or before/after work. then they feel completely powerless anyway, so give up.

we have a lot of faults here but we are light years ahead of them in terms of social issues.

for example, my partner was severely dehydrated and had to go to ED, the bill for a 24 hour stay and some IV for fluids. Over 10k.

my partner then had to take medicine for severe morning sickness, otherwise she ends up back in the ED with another 10k bill. cost of that. over 10k for the life of the pregnancy.

a colleague's partner had complications during their pregnancy, cost: near on a million.

that's not how a normal society should operate.

Yeah, if you get cancer in the US you can end up bankrupt. People make choices about going on treatment because they don't want to deprive their kids of their college fund. It's meant to be a first world nation.

We don’t have a reciprocal agreement with the US along with many countries so no insurance here can mean a huge bill as well.

It because he's on the crazy dictator power train, and its created by confidence build from the support and unbridled dedication of a small band of henchmen, a number of Yes men and a brainwashed populous. I have a number of students from China in my classes and I have to be very careful when we get into the political science surrounding the Community Party of China. There all very good kids, all intelligent and passionate contributors to our discussion's but when we hit the subject of China, its like the "I know you are but what am I" game has arrived

Ive seen Trump saying the same thing and it often scares me. "I know I did the wrong thing, but look at this thing Obama did 8 years ago that is unrelated and not anyware near as bad as what I'm doing... See he did bad stuff! Im not that bad..."

Its the sign of someone that knows not checks and balances to there power.

i was not an american citizen, so i was on a different insurance policy to those there. we went through a 3rd party for expat insurance.

Health care has been a major issue during Covid.
11 Million people have lost their jobs due to Covid measures.
When they lose their job, they also lose their insurance.
They then catch Covid and need hospital treatment.
This became an issue early on, but it seems the measures they put in place aren't a great fix.

I reckon if Trump did a good job at Covid and did a good job with climate change he would have gone down as one of Americas best presidents.

He just had to listen to scientists for Covid, signed some bills for maks, other medical stuff and stimulus packages and play a fu** load of golf while qualified people do the work.

I think being a leader through a pandemic is a very tough job. Look at Andrews in Victoria - it now looks like he did a perfect job, but in the heat of lockdown he was copping it from all sides. Can't imagine how any US president could have done a whole lot better than Trump honestly. Can you really lockdown the whole USA?

And next Republican nom? Heard an interesting theory it could be Tucker Carlson, has the platform already and plays perfectly into Trump's base whilst still being a bit more balanced

I believe you can put a dick on your ballot paper and it will be a formal vote if the boxes are still numbered correctly and it's legible.
