That is a shit article, it complains about the salaries and that no money goes to research but then goes on to say they don't actually handle money directly and rather push it straight to researchers. A lot of charities operate like that too, so much is in administration rather than ground work. A lot of the major charities have small percentages actually going where the money is meant to go. The travel and seminar costs are literally how they make money for the charity.

Mainstream media posting disingenuous information? No way!

Mainstream? You quoted a tabloid - is that what you would call mainstream??
What does it matter if it is a tabloid? Do you know what mainstream means? 😅

A tabloid is largely sensationalist journalism I would use with caution (along with the Boston Herald). ;)
Sensationalist journalism can't be mainstream?

I think this is pretty fair in it's balance. It was very convenient that just on the eve of elections the Trump camp came up with another round of controversial emails. It looks like his son probably sold his dads name as a way to gain influence, but then that's straight out Trump's playbook. They would have wanted to make sure that it was accurate before making it public, if it was wrong it could have changed the way the election went on a lie.

Adelaide and SA could enter a lockdown again due to botched quarinite

If only we had a federal government that was competent enough to sort out quarantine and border control instead of pushing every responsibility on the states.

Who cares about Trump and Biden when we have scotty the treasonous campaigner in charge.

I am just stirring you guys up, I didn't even read the article in its entirety I just wanted to see the reactions.

It seems the general consensus here and 'out there' is that mainstream media is good when it attacks someone you don't like.

Why are we so quick to dismiss any journalism that goes the other way?

I actually think the media did probably go soft on Biden, but then Trump has spent years denigrating the them. He's made a pretty powerful enemy while making his own cult of anti media believers. I know a few Aussie Americans and they were so keen to get rid of Trump they would have voted for a rock over him. The media seemed to have a similar response.

What does that article have to do with Trump though?

I really feel sorry for SA, it's shit luck, luckily they seem to have caught it early. I did predict that it would flare up again somewhere. If it's out there it will blow up again. We stopped in Oakleigh yesterday and it was thriving with no social distancing and hardly any masks. If one person there had it, then hundreds would.

A tabloid is actually the size of the page.
The "British Tabloids" were renowned for being crap , but it wasn't the size of the pages that caused it.

This is my issue with them. They can't be trusted because of their bias.

What do you expect when he rubbishes them as a way of making himself look like the only reasonable purveyor of truth. They seem to have no more bias than him or the more right wing media to be honest. You probably shouldn't trust anyone as far as commentary goes. Trump deliberately lies and is the last person who should be considered trustworthy.

And also the style of paper. They were traditionally the cheap idiots paper with **** on page three and stories about randy vicars shagging nuns and ridiculously attention grabbing headlines.

I don't really think you are fooling anyone by trying to blame Trump for how the mainstream conduct themselves. Do you really think they report badly on someone because of what that person says about them or do you think it's actually because they want to push a narrative? The same thing happens in this country to our Labor party. It's not even up for debate, it's overwhelmingly one way in America (Democrat) and one way in Australia (Liberal)

Actually got nothing to do with Trump and the article you quoted before had nothing to do with him either so I don't know why you keep wanting to bring him into the discussion.

Well stuff you Mr hoi patoity Guardian reader. ( which is also a tabloid these days ) I happen to like the **** on page 3.
And what a pain in the ass it used to be to spread the age all over the loungeroom floor to try to read it.
