Thoughts on Biden?
I think Biden is at heart a decent man, and he will play by the rules, unlike 45. I am hoping he will be better for climate action. I also think he will play less golf than 44 & 45. That's a joke George.

I agree with others when I say that I think he is casually racist. But that just means he needs to be more considered in his day to day interactions, and maybe realign some of his thinking. I don't think he has a racist agenda. I think the involvement of his 50 year old son Hunter in the Ukraine with Burisma has a stench about it. I'm leaning towards at best he is a high level lobbyist using dads influence to unlock financial opportunities, and at worst he was funneling money.

I think Biden is going to have a hamstrung presidency that makes it very difficult for him to actually achieve anything. Certainly not while McConnell is in control of the Senate.

I do think the Democrats are a shambles. 46 hasn't even been inaugurated and they have turned on their progressives, accusing them of causing the party to lose ground in several congressional races. Watch them push Sanders into 4 years of obscurity, and most will continue to line their campaign accounts with lobbyist money. Like labour here I absolutely believe they have lost touch with the needs (not wants) of the the working class voter.

If anyone wants to honestly understand the real powers at play in this world - the only book they need to read which is well known to the worshipful brothers out there, is Carroll Quigley's Tragedy & Hope, the original uncensored version by GSG publishing.

Quigley was the Dean of History at Georgetown University and one of only two people Bill Clinton thanked in his Inauguration day acceptance speech (David Rockefeller was the other). He was the quintessential insider and was the only person to gain unfettered access to the libraries at the Royal Institute of International Affairs.

It is a large book, has a fascinating story to it all on its own but it is not for everyone. In it, the author spells out the information in explicit details which is what made it so controversial. Only for those with the eyes to see and ears to hear.

Really appreciate your last few posts mate cheers! If I could like them more than once I would. You definitely offer a different perspective and something for me to consider :) :thumbsu:

For what it's worth I think Biden and Kamala Harris have done really terrible things for the black community in America.

Ridiculous post from a normally good poster.

Totally disagree - post that comes from knowledge and experience.

You may disagree with it's content that is fine but it is belittling to call it ridiculous in isolation without any supporting comment.

Lol, that wasn't the argument I was making. I was giving evidence to show how popular he was compared to other republican candidates in the last 60 years, as minorities usually vote Democrat. Biden is not a Republican so why would I mention him. I was making a point of comparing Trump to the prior candidates from his own party, had nothing to do with Biden. I specifically said amongst republicans in the last 60 years.

I know I agree with all of that I am saying she made a racist comment but you could argue she isn't a racist person. There's a difference I think when you include ignorance.

Do you think her racist comment should have been called out? Do you think there was the potential for this to continue if it was not called out??

I think everybody needs to understand that irregardless of where you stand it looks like the propaganda machine is working for the other side. Some hate on the CNN and others hate on Fox. Some hate the Huffington post and others hate Breitbart, and so on ad infinitum. There are very few media outlets that don't lean more one way than the other and the torturous task of sifting through the manure to find inspiring opinion has been left up to us. It's why I like forums like this because hopefully others are helping with the sifting and we can digest all manner of subjects, toss them up and lay out our opinions and maybe walk away with an adjusted perspective.

Let me premise the rest of this post by saying that this is only my opinion. You needn't make it a reality.

I believe Trump is a disingenuous politician. He has no vision, and no holistic agenda for America. He has campaigned on a host of single issues (gun rights, China, the economy, abortion, immigration, policing, religion, marxist-lennist socialism, antifacism, anti-vaccine, global warming) that appeal to a cross section of vastly different voters and united them to fight against a fictional opposition (the lying violent radical socialist left).

Trump does have an enormous grotesque appeal to the media. Probably the largest on the planet. And he has been able to use that to deliver his message to the single issue voters in America. Vote for me or lose your guns. Vote for me or watch crime escalate. Vote for me or watch the stock market crash. Vote for me or watch the suburbs get run over by gangs. Vote for me or watch the Mexicans take your jobs. Vote for me or watch Muslims inject terror into our lives. Vote for me or watch the number of babies dying in abortion clinics sky rocket. Vote for me or watch the Democrats turn America into Cuba. Vote for me or lose the right to celebrate Christmas.

And he has used this popularity at the poll to connect corporate lobbyists directly with government. Corporations no longer have to lobby politicians. Trump virtually seated them in policy making positions. He has used his time in the whitehouse to gorge on government funding. And while he has delivered on many of his intolerant promises he certainly hasn't made America great, nor has he done much for the quality of life of the ordinary working class American.

Infrastructure, health, education, fair work, climate action have all fallen by the wayside. Why? Because money. Lots and lots of money. And that is starting to creep into Australian politics.

It may have a lot to do with his upbringing but fundamentally Trump is not a nice human being.

Thoughts on Biden?

I have no way of knowing if this is real but I want it to be.

Before he was a wrestling superstar, Randy (Savage) Poffo was trying his arm in the world of baseball. He even got on a trading card -

Yep and yeah potentially

20 days now of no new cases and I just read this;

If Victoria records another eight days of zero new cases, the virus will be presumed to have been eradicated in the community according to Dean of Health at Swinburne University, Dr Bruce Thompson.

Pretty promising

QLD government said they'd open the borders to VIC by Christmas so I took a risk and bought tickets yesterday to Brisbane for New Years...not sure about opening international borders just yet though lol

Yeh and considering we are having a massive outbreak I’d definitely have to quarantine anyway. Nightmare.

Looks interesting, what's the overview of it?

Well it better be open by early June. I am travelling overland from Darwin to Broome.

Just take the back roads, or are they manning the border near Kaltakjara?

( My cousin was working at Laverton. Once when they had some time on their hands they threw a good few eskies in the back of one of the worksite land cruisers and drove it to Uluru ).

Added bonus of dIcTAtOr dAn locking us up all winter is that the flu has nosedived to historical lows

View attachment 1014554

I wonder if our total COVID + Flu deaths over winter is above or below the averages Flu deaths?

You’d think combatting COVID wiping out a lot of the flu deaths we might have parity?
