I agree.

Separate threads for separate trade prospects (Carlisle, Aish, Freeman etc. should all have invidual threads each imo) and use the main thread strictly for draft discussion and other potential fantasy trades/mocks whatever.

It's time consuming coming back to skim through 10-20 pages of draft talk and random crap looking for possible trade rumours (which I know a lot of users only use that thread for.)

There is only one active thread on our board which is 90% made up trade hypotheticals, the rest are a ghost town at the moment.

It's the offseason, if you can't effectively BS, gossip and otherwise pad for time in the offseason, then I dunno when you legitmately can.

List lodgements and actual news though, yes I'd separate, which have been separated before and likely will again, so I don't see any problem with containing the gossip and 1upmanship to a single thread.

Luke Ball wouldn't even speak to clubs not named Collingwood
Pure draft tampering, he should have been de-registered.

If Collingwood weren't prepared to lose a player in order to gain a better pick then they should have missed out.

The ramifications of clubs regularly doing this would be huge.

Imagine the outcry if we did this with Carlisle… it was a f-ing ridiculous scenario.

Now it's been a long time since it happened but I think the pies offered goldsack but we wanted Wellingham and they told us to shove it. Then they tried to offer pick 30 I think. Might have wellingham wrong but it was something like that.

I selfishly want freeman and want him to star just to get back abit that they got from ball

No I haven't, what's your point?

Just because the player doesn't end up signing with a club doesn't mean he didn't strongly commit or at least have meetings and field offers from a club. So while it's easy to throw off and say people are talking shit after the event all these things may well be happening.

Yep cheating in its purist form.

Macaffer wasn't it?

There were many names thrown up. In fact remembering those times make me throw up. Any mention of the Pies will do the same.
Every time SEN play the 'September to Remember' bits I end up in the foetal position, especially the commentary parts.
I tend to recall Goldsack was mooted as a swap for Ball but he refused.
That said, there was talk way back when, that Thommo almost got the Heath Black / Dean Cox deal across the line. Only thing that scuppered it was Cox got cold feet.
We certainly had pick 30 to take for Ball and Lyin was pig headed enough to refuse it. Strange that Ball ended up going at 30.
Melb had 4 picks and Bombers could have got him too.
We may be suss of Collingwood's actions back then but we stuffed up on a few fronts, primarily pushing out a warrior former captain.

Over 40 years on this earth.......Just once Saints......PLEASE!

Yep we come from the same time period - Robbie Elphinstone - number 33 wasn't he? Good player

Players drafted after pick 32 in 2009: Max Gawn, David Astbury, Sam Reid, Nathan Vardy, Dylan Roberton, Ben Sinclair, Taylor Duryea, Dylan Grimes, Majak Daw, Alex Silvagni, Stewart Crameri.

2009 was the unmitigated disaster for our drafting and trading - the best we did was essentially two years of Brett Peake.

So do Brisbane, Carlton and Essendon, good luck out pricing those clubs especially Brisbane. With Luke Ball you guys wanted 30 + Brown, we countered with 30 + either Goldsack or Wellingham and from there you guys kept changing the goal posts simply because Ross Lyon didn't want to strengthen a premiership rival.

Nope. We wanted Wellingham and you said no - have GoldSack. We said no.
