My dad and his mates used to steal cars to drive themselves home from the pub in the early 70's which is weird, because he looks white but he must actually be Sudanese

Were him and his mates responsible for 90% of the aggravated thefts in Melbourne at the time?

Got a source for that?

Pulling 90% from ******* nowhere, who do you get your statistics from? Pauline Hanson?

Thanks for your abusive post.
As you noticed i did have a source.

You have made up your mind about me and what's happening on the street based on your ideals of political correctness.
I suppose you think that Eddie Maguire caused most of the domestic violence in Australia as well.

Its a disputed figure.
But it is a figure with a source.

https://ausudmediaproject.wordpress...nities-confront-police-over-crime-statistics/

Of course it was racist for the police to publish it.

It's not racist to publicise stats, it's not racist to be concerned about migrants coming from war torn countries, it IS racist to pick one individual who is being charged with a crime and make assertions that it is predictable and related to his race. You went after a young kid who has been charged and made it about race when you had no ****ing clue as to what happened. You seem very bitter about some personal run in with some people who were African/of African background, something to do with your car, not sure what the details are there but maybe get pissed off at those individuals rather than taking pot shots at an entire race of people. That is prejudice, that is racism. There are bound to be some psychologically unbalanced people coming out of Sudan and South Sudan, they've had a bloody civil war and that's going to distort some peoples view of normality and what is acceptable, but to say that Sudanese people are, what was it? "pissing on our culture" or something to that effect, is a generalisation based on a race of people based on the actions of a minority. That to me is the definition of racism. Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? Does that not apply to minorities or groups of ethnicities?

If you don't like the "racist" label, maybe try not make broad, sweeping statements about entire races of people in our community and people won't call you racist?

Hey genius, your 'source' doesn't say 90% it says 0.90% so less than 1% of crime in Victoria is committed by Sudanese. And it also shows that 93% of the Sudanese living in Victoria don't break the law.

>You have made up your mind about me and what's happening on the street based on your ideals of political correctness.

Actually i use facts and statistics, and if your own statistics are anything to go by then you are clearly over stating the problem. (but only by 89.08%)
But you've clearly made your own mind up based on your racial prejudice and confirmation bias. I suppose you think Blair Cottrell and Pauline Hanson are the true voices of the Australian people right.

But even though 93% of them don't break the law i guess we should just ignore that because we know that it couldn't possibly be true, we know their real intention is to shit all over our culture right!

So i did , stupid me.
totally the wrong stat .

7% is a high enough number to suggest a cultural issue. And our Essendon rookie friend will possibly become part of this statistic now.

Its a lot higher than the general percentage of Australians that are criminals. ( without even weeding out the wishy washy Pauline Hanson, Derryn Hinch type criminals ).

Thanks for saving me from my own rant. Well said and spot on.

Awesome. And so good to see that the Sudanese population of Victoria aren't responsible for 90% of aggravated assaults, which would be insane when you think about it. Pretty bizarre that anyone could think that it was. You would think that an inability to read statistics damages one's argument, but...

...how typical that the point is still being pressed. This is why it's so frustrating arguing this sort of thing. I did it on Saintsational last year and the poster ended up saying "Well I know what I believe." Think about that phrase for a moment. That's what we're up against.

The feelings of intimidation Saints Sept spoke of in an earlier post are real and need to be addressed (otherwise these people will keep feeling ignored which is how someone like PH can come along and say "I'll represent you") but personally, hearing white people talk about how they find black people intimidating reminds me of a big clumsy human trying to kill a tiny huntsman spider that they are scared of.

(no relation between black people and spiders! #spidergate)

FYI the report you refer to miraculously came out just as the police were being investigated for racial profiling of Sudanese in there "stop and search" activities which was later confirmed to be true. No wonder the Sudanese community were upset.

Written police notes showed that if the Sudanese kids were "' loitering around park bench near basketball court" or "wearing 'home boy/gangster' clothing" that was enough for them to be stopped and searched.

Yes and i'm the same.
There are no Sudanese living in the cul-de sak i live in. In fact i know every resident by sight.
There are no large groups of Sudanese living in the area i live in.
Large groups of Sudanese are sighted by people i know , loitering in the local primary schoolyard at night and at the same night LOTs of cars and the local news-agency are broken into.
But yeah it would be racist if the cops searched them for no reason.

It's not BECAUSE they are black by the way. But their distinct appearance does make it easy to identify ( yes stereotype ) their background.
I suppose its racist to say that the Mafia may have had a lot of Italians.
Being searched for no reason is not really that bad if you are loitering in a residential area without any reason to be there. The police ARE actually trying to reduce crime.
I've been searched by police for no reason before. I laughed it off.

Maybe our Essendon footballer is not like the street thugs I've experienced though. Time will tell.

Going on the news report, he actually kicked her a few times when she was on the ground. nothing but a turd

Nick Stevens you should've got 3 years not 3 months, you weak prick

Even 3 years is too lenient, people who are quick to do this don't change overnight generally speaking, should have been told to piss off for an extended period of time until he learns respect for others.

In other news, I am after advice. I recently got a new phone and am contemplating the AFL live pass, what's the service like?

I've got it on my android phone, and it's the main way that I watch all our games on my TV, thanks to using it with a Google Cast.

Straight off the phone, it's fine, but casting it there is a slight lag of the audio (less than a second most of the time) - however, during actual play, that second's lag isn't really very noticeable. It only becomes irritating in interviews between play, where you can see the voice and the mouth don't match up.

The global pass WatchAFL international streaming thing that you get as part of the Saints international membership?
It's OK, it depends on how fast the internet is obviously. I often am unable to stream live but the replay service is pretty good, even if the interface is a bit clunky. Sometimes the live streaming works. I get to watch footy on my phone on the other side of the world, which I don't take for granted.
