I haven't seen the wicket, but jesus christ Dravid is a hack. I guess it just goes to show, everyone loses it eventually. I expect that was his last innings of test cricket.

Exam 3 of 6 tomorrow.

Be halfway there.

And if I do well in it, well I wont have to give a shit about 2 of me other exams! So lets hope we do well.
I take it you mean Methods.

That'll make 5 of 5 for me

Ohh man stuff exams. Still 2 years away but, i'm already not looking forward too it. I'm actually shit scared. I have a feeling i'm gonna be one of those people that will study the night before exam. Not good.

Ricky Ponting is gonna be absolutley blasted by the papers for what he's doing now. Disgraceful.

lol 6 and 5 exams sucked in guys. I've got just 3 in the next 2 weeks and I only have to revise hard for one, good times. Good luck though guys.

Oh yeah, methods. I'm far too smart for design tech and PE. But I'd so rather be doing that....

Haha I remember back in the day when I read about other kids who I had no idea who were having exams coming up, used to look up to them and think, wow those guys are big. 18 and doing exams, that'll never happen to me...And here I am, 5 days from the end. :(

I'm still sticking my methods cheat book together, so hopefully it's fresh in my mind tomorrow? Not literally 'sticking' btw, goodie. ;)

I really hate that rule, I think it's overkill. Back in my day, it was two double-sided pages and that's it.

Don't know if you know, but the VCE rules state it must have one spine (possibly because one enterprising lad last year glued three books together)

You can take a cheat book?
Now it doesn't sound as daunting.

Tommorow is going to be a craker. 0/13 of 2.4 overs, chasing down a total of 369 @ about 4.5 runs p/o. How funny would it be to snatch an unlikely win, ecspecially with India shutting up shop in the 3rd test.

God I wish you were online now.

If my book fell apart, it's those shitty Artrite ones, the cover fell off essentially. I stuck it back on with tape, and put sticky tape on some of the pages to stop them falling out. It's a normal A4 module, which I know is allowed, I'm just hoping since I've kinda repaired it, and that it could fall apart...that they won't pull some rule out of their arse and take it off me.

I've read over the rules, and theres nothing saying it can't have sticky tape, as long as it's stapled in it's all good.

I can just see it getting taken off me.

How come you're not allowed loose leaf and stuff? I don't see the point, why are the rules so stringent...I dont see the difference between bringing in loose leaf, as opposed to putting the same information in a module.

I think you'd call it... over reacting to something that probably went wrong a while ago. Similar to the AFL changing the interchange rules, the rule and penalty is vastly inproportionate to the 'crime' committed.

Oh wells, I'll just take a deep breath when the lady comes around tomorrow.

I assume you mean a Horse Racing/Punting Club thread rather than a Ricky Ponting Club thread? If it's horse racing I only really bet on the Melbourne Cup so I probably wouldn't have much use for it.

Still not looking good in the cricket, we can't buy a wicket at the moment. Might be time to send an SOS to Warnie.

Very nice word play brother.

It doesn't necessarily have to be horse racing, it can be punting of any kind. I'm even prepared to extend it to Gold Logie betting.

Sourav Ganguly making a golden duck in his final dig was undoubtedly the highlight of the weekend for me.

Can't have that bloke.

Agreed, absolute tosser. Now to complete the dream all we need is Ponting to belt Harbajahn Singh for 36 off his last over to give Australia a one run victory :thumbsu:

Ah, CHB, if you can study Maths etc with the same talent you show for scouting future Saints midfielders in the draft, I have full confidence you'll get 90+ in your TER!!!

Gold Logie betting, now you're talking. Wouldn't mind having a few dollars on Shaun Micallef to take out the gold next year. Much rather him than Rove winning it again.

Just shows how utterly awesome we were compared to these whippersnappers with our memories!

Actually hated the examination period since it was geared towards retention of knowledge as opposed to experience or skill in the particular skill / branch of learning. I took clinical Psychology as an advanced course (thus felt utterly lonely sitting with the big kids during classes) and considering that every assessed coursework piece was a theoretical study of a theoretical situation I ended up wtfing as the examination delved back into biology and the dissection of the human brain to emotive responses. Yes it's topical, but it's honestly not practical and since it ends up being a 2 lesson "this piece for motor function yo!" pointless to determine if someone would make a decent psychologist. I would have preferred some form of mock study (considering there was only 15 of us) where the individual was given a subject with a set issue, cordoned off from the rest of those taking the exam and then submitted reports / diagnosis.

But damn, would have loved to bring in a book for my methods exam.

One of my mates stapled two books together, dont think it got taken off him.

I managed to staple mine, so I was fine with it falling apart.

You dont even need a book, I barely used mine. The only reason to make the book is, by writing it, you're revising, so you dont really need to look at it. Might feel like a waste of time, but it's probably the best form of revision, and it's always handy to be able to look back if you have a mind blank.

I like Adam Hills and let's multi that into Cousins to be leading possession winner in Round 1!

Bit of an ask for me to be online at 1 in the morning before working an exam, factoring the need to set up the exam and travel time

I'm only an assistant supervisor, I don't know all the rules and rulings. The books and graphics calculators (at least at the school I work at) need to be presented before a maths teacher who does know the rules properly and checked. I just check that all the books and calcs have a sticker to show they have been looked at.

The loose leaf rule I'm pretty sure ties into the ban on blank pages, the theory being that blank pages can be used to cheat or used to work out an answer, meaning the working isn't on the paper itself. A loose leaf folder can hide blank pages, and also having a bound reference means that if it's dropped there's no chance of the pages scattering.

That's the theory at least.

I wouldn't. Means you've got too much information at your fingertips, and therefore have to search longer for it. A few boys in my room today only brought in a couple of pages.

I like the way your thinking Percy. :thumbsu: If only Footy and Maths were the same thing. Lucky for me Methods won't have a strong bearing on what i want to do when i leave school. Well that's if i don't change my mind.

+1 for a discussion board in this forum. Would be a good idea.

Can Krejza perform well on non Indian spinning decks? Have my concerns.

That sounds pretty good to me, providing Cousins is playing for us and they are footy possessions and not drug possessions.

That was actually me personally, I've always been weird in that first time I'll get whats going on and be able to replicate the physical notions of the theories in a practical sense, yet if you then asked me months later the reasoning behind how to do it I'll still know but not be able to link the explanations. Thus in an exam sense when you're effectively asking 12 months of explanations I fail (considering the 40+% impact on scoring went from top 5% to top 40%) simply because I couldn't translate the application, thus extra pages to just help (stream of consciousness type) you can't really do on 1 page front & back with so many formulaes or notions to remember.

His first class isn't that great, going at an average of 50 odd in about 25 matches but he does still have time on his side unlike McGain which is why they may just stick with him ont he international scene.
