The person with Jack in the Insta is a good looking bloke. Now wonder he is on the turn.

The Footy Show thrives on controversies and big stories. And with Eddie back and trying to re-float the sinking ship, he desperately needs a huge scoop.

However at the moment this story looks like falling through.

I think the only thing left is for Eddie and Sam to come out as some pathetic old couple. That should get people to tune in. Talk about their love for each other and how they’ve been living a lie for the last 20 years or so. Should be enough to win them new viewers and support from all sorts of groups. May even help Collingwood gain more sponsorship and government assistance.

Then, once that has all died down (say after about 2 weeks), they come out with an even bigger story (tune in folks!)

Eddie and Sam aren’t gay and the previous media reporting was all a lie! It has disgracefully ruined their lives and reputations. Their strong, principled stance against this public bullying should win them new viewers and support from all sorts of groups. It may even help Collingwood gain more sponsorship and government assistance.

I thought this was a pretty accurate synopsis of the Australia of the eighties and now, and both Eddie and Sam. Haven't seen the footy show for about 15 years but I can't imagine it's as relevant as it was.

The better question is if you wanted to create an AFL based entertainment show nowadays that had the same impact The Footy Show originally had, what would that look like?

Chooma made some crude comments to a female saints supporter on twitter, russled jimmies ensued, battle grounds were met, bannings were had, stciatriz chose his side but picked the wrong target & martyred himself like a true shaheed & closed down his twitter account. It was weird in a glorious kind of way. Was it a full moon?

Yep that article summed it up. Sam Newman has pretty much turned in to a bitter resentful old campaigner in the Alan Jones mould. The best part of the footy show in the old days was coming back from training and watching the team selections and getting to see some of you players as people. The internet has sped up information and it's no longer relevant any more. Newman is like Daryl Somers now, his show is only on for some sort of nostalgia people aren't quite ready to ween themselves from despite it looking like it best year were long long ago.
