Maxie out tonite , just annouced on SEN.
It was very fortunate for Ross Lyon that Kosi manged to put that one through. Who knows what would have happened if he had missed. It is quite possible that if that shot had missed, Grant Thomas would have been back in the coaches box for real next week!!!
Friday night's win against Carlton has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Ross Lyon should be terminated at years end. In the first 3 quarters it was the St kilda of old with fast attacking football. It was as if Grant Thomas was back in the coaches box.
Absolutely no doubt that Milne and Harvey would not have been at the club any more.
Did NH promise never to return if we finished above Richmond/Carlton?
Do you reckon Grant owns a pet rabbit? So she see's Grant Thomas in the coaches box.
She probably see's him in her house as well, and talks to him.
There are pictures of him all up the wall.
BE AFRAID GRANT, BE VERY AFRAID.
With all due and sincere respect to Sainter and Kildonian, might I humbly suggest this actually could have been kept as the thread NH started. Despite all the usual, predictable rantings (right on the mark Squizz with your broken reckon pic), there were some VERY interesting little tid-bits in this post. Nexus, you inadvertantly recognised that Ross Lyon is playing with a little more of a, as you put it, "Grant Thomas" mentality. Actually, I think he's taking the best of what a good coach put in - attack and flair and run, to GT's credit - but refining out some of the more unhelpful elements of GT's game. GT was unreactive, and that was his big let down.Friday night's win against Carlton has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Ross Lyon should be terminated at years end. Then, inexplicably, the Saints reverted back to the Lyon game plan that has dogged this club for nearly 2 years. The players all of a sudden stopped running. They started to hold onto the ball and waste time. The fast attacking football that got them to a 33 point lead, (Thomas game plan), was out the window. The Lyon game plan was back, and Ross Lyon was clearly back in the coaches box. Carlton was back too.
In the space of 12 minutes the young Carlton team lead by Chris Judd and Bryce Gibbs had banged on 4 unanswered goals to be within 7 points. However this time the Saints had a little lady luck smiling on them. Enter Koschitzke, from an impossible angle for a right footer, only 30 meters out he slotted the goal that extinguished Carlton's comeback.
