He'll never play in the VFL!

I know. TFS is a classy operation with Billy's crotchless jumpsuit, Gary's twin (the hairy man), and the dwarfs. Yelling out your support for your club just should not be tolerated!!!

Saints had Grant Thomas and Ross Lyon in the coaches box.

Friday night's win against Carlton has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Ross Lyon should be terminated at years end. In the first 3 quarters it was the St kilda of old with fast attacking football. It was as if Grant Thomas was back in the coaches box.

Then, inexplicably, the Saints reverted back to the Lyon game plan that has dogged this club for nearly 2 years. The players all of a sudden stopped running. They started to hold onto the ball and waste time. The fast attacking football that got them to a 33 point lead, (Thomas game plan), was out the window. The Lyon game plan was back, and Ross Lyon was clearly back in the coaches box. Carlton was back too.

In the space of 12 minutes the young Carlton team lead by Chris Judd and Bryce Gibbs had banged on 4 unanswered goals to be within 7 points. However this time the Saints had a little lady luck smiling on them. Enter Koschitzke, from an impossible angle for a right footer, only 30 meters out he slotted the goal that extinguished Carlton's comeback.

It was very fortunate for Ross Lyon that Kosi manged to put that one through. Who knows what would have happened if he had missed. It is quite possible that if that shot had missed, Grant Thomas would have been back in the coaches box for real next week!!!

What rubbish!!!

1/ King dominated the tap outs. GT would never have had him at the club.

2/ "Exit him out" Harvey played very well. Yes the same Harvey that GT backed up Derm's stupid comments in the NAB Cup with that he GT "had seen the signs" last year. With Gt at the reigns Banger would have been exited.

3/ Milne kicked 5 goals. FIVE Golas. If GT had stayed at the club GT would have traded him to the Dons. FACT Milne was on the trade table till Ross arrived and took him off it.

I could go on.....but with GT still at the club we would have been bottom four after his continued mismanagement of the list.

Absolutely no doubt that Milne and Harvey would not have been at the club any more.

Did NH promise never to return if we finished above Richmond/Carlton?

I know - it's weak. Should just let Kildonan work his magic so the posts "pop" into the junk thread.

Can't help it though sometimes.

Re: Saints had Grant Thomas and Ross Lyon in the coaches box.

So she see's Grant Thomas in the coaches box.
She probably see's him in her house as well, and talks to him.
There are pictures of him all up the wall.

BE AFRAID GRANT, BE VERY AFRAID.

I think it is safe to say that GT did not have much to do with this victory.

Do you reckon Grant owns a pet rabbit?

(Fatal Attraction reference for those who didn't get it, look up 'bunny boiler')

With all due and sincere respect to Sainter and Kildonian, might I humbly suggest this actually could have been kept as the thread NH started. Despite all the usual, predictable rantings (right on the mark Squizz with your broken reckon pic), there were some VERY interesting little tid-bits in this post. Nexus, you inadvertantly recognised that Ross Lyon is playing with a little more of a, as you put it, "Grant Thomas" mentality. Actually, I think he's taking the best of what a good coach put in - attack and flair and run, to GT's credit - but refining out some of the more unhelpful elements of GT's game. GT was unreactive, and that was his big let down.

Ross's game plan is responsive - it responds not so much to the opposition (in which case it's reactive), but to the normal momentum too-and-fro of a footy game. This is why I call it a TIDAL game-plan, rather than a flooding game-plan.

What do you say, Nexus? Maybe you could squeeze out a little bit of hope and give Lyon a little, tiny, incy-wincy bit of credit? Maybe there's a just a smidgen of hope for your beloved club yet? What d'ya say?
