Whilst I'm being politcally incorrect (hey, it works for Carlton) :

Barry Dawson's calendar goes straight from March 31st to April 2nd; no one fools Barry Dawson.

Barry Dawson doesn't use pickup lines, he simply says, "Now."

Barry Dawson can kill two stones with one bird.

Barry Dawson can win a game of Connect Four in only three moves.

It takes Barry Dawson 20 minutes to watch 60 Minutes.

When Barry Dawson plays Monopoly, it affects the actual world economy.

Barry Dawson qualified for the Daytona 500 - without a car.

Nathan Bracken is allowed to live because Barry Dawson doesn't kill women.

Barry Dawson can turn the light switch off and be in bed before the globe got the message.

Bizzare day.

Wake up, turn on the tv, Michael Jacksons DEAD, Farrah Fawcett DEAD, Jeff Goldblum DEAD.
WTF?
So sad. I hate it when famous people die suddenly, it knocks home that death really does happen to everyone. (sounds stupid, but ihaven't had anyone pass in my life yet) (touchwood) Even though im too young to be a massive fan of either of them, it still dampens your mood a bit.
Rip.

Goldblum reported to be a hoax, second time for the same actor.

Michael Jackson was really a Bizzarre character, even back then. It was just that there were so many others with fabricated persona's ( Prince , Boy George etc ) that people didn't realise how strange he was.

I still can't think of him as a musical icon, but he was certainly a showman.

I can still remember some young girl being interviewed on Countdown during the "Thriller" era. "I have all his singles and also his album "
Given that nearly every song on the thriller album was released as a single made me wonder if this sort of idiocy went some of the way to explaining the huge record sales he made.

Was a massive MJ fan, I have his thriller on a record and have his discography, I mean he basically revolutionised the pop genre from what it was and he was the king at creating an IP, Moonwalker wa s abrillaint arthouse movie because it was just a giant music video, then you had his Sega genesis game. The man earned the title King of Pop so really it's a sad end especially since he was planning a tour in London.

Sad that Farrah Fawcett is getting completely ignored. I guess her family would be pleased with that though..
Itunes going beserk at the moment, 21 songs in the top 100. And 16/100 (6 of the top 10) albums sold all from Jacko.

I was probably a bit older, and into the more highbrow music at the time.( dire straits, Pink Floyd's "The Wall" etc) to me the Jackson 5 were the equivalent of a boy band when there was more serious rock around.
Yes he recognised the marketability of Video clips, but how much of it was him and how much of it was money being thrown to producers. It wasn't Michael Jackson who invented digital morphing, and to me lining up all the zombies to do a dance was fairly tacky.
If I wanted to hear Van Halen on a CD I bought a Van Halen CD and got the real thing.

Michael Jackson may have been a rather peculiar character with some very odd behaviour at times, but there is no doubt that he changed the history of music (my personal favourite is "give into me").

Farrah Fawcett brings back early childhood memories (she was still known as Fawcett-Majors then) - may she rest in piece with the real angels.

I watched ACA tributes and all that shit, cause im a sucker for celebrity deaths. Yeah anyway, you could tell he was a really, really unhappy man in the period leading up to his death (or since the trial). Well compared to when he was married to Lisa-Marie Presley, i'd never seen him so happy and animated. Made me :).
I feel really sorry for his kids, their mother couldn't give a shit about them. They only really knew their dad. Interesting to hear that it was at Debbie Rowe's request that the kids have their faces covered in public, not Michael's. Common misconception about him.
Interested to know, what happens to his $600 million debt or whatever it is? Who's resonsible for that now?

haha where's that from? top notch, absolutely spot on.

hysteria around jacko's death is top of the list of things that shit me right now. especially coming from my mates who weren't even alive for his prime and I've never heard listen to him before hand.

The first thing i thought of when he died was, he'd be a pretty scary ghost.
Anorexic, hairless, noseless, pasty skin stabbed with unhealed needle holes with a face chisled by man himself. And the scary thing is he was going to get more cosmetic surgery. Sad. :(

Ok, who brought a lotto ticket?
Ima be $90,000,000 richer in about 4 hrs.

Im deadset keen to get this topic to 1000 posts and locked. Keep on postwhoring guys, team effort. :thumbsu:

Congrats on the win CHB.

I'm about to wander over to the Medallion club dining room then watch Loewey, Aussie & Wakes have a run on the park. Yay!

anyone else watching the legends game?

i'd almost forgotten how good a kick aussie jones is... how old is he these days? I remember he retired too early, would love it if he was still running around these days.

not the most entertaining of spectacles though.

I went along & had a great time. I gotta recommend the steak in the Medallion dining room - magnificent!

Highlight was that Jessica Mauboy(?) chick strutting passed while we were eating - goddamn & omfg!:eek::eek: Clean up table 5! Clean up table 5! Got the thumbs up from Billy B strolling passed as well.

The game was what it was, a bit of fun for charity. Great seeing Loewey taking marks, Aussie's familiar kicking style, Thomo getting in there, Joel Smith still looked in good nick.

No, but i would like to. I got my "elder" years planned out.
Move into a retirement village and travel around the village with a battery powered golf cart that my husband picked up at a bargain basement price in the tradingpost.
Play Saturday morning bowls with my teammates, Betty, Nancy, Lyn and Ronald.
Have a weekly bowls team meeting over tea and scones every tuesday.
Play burngo bingo Monday through Sunday.

Change of pace here;
Can i just say how embarrasing Australian Media are. Proof.
God, no wonder any decent Australian talent left our shores quicker than you can say "Tracy Grimshaw's botched botox". Embarassing.
