Yep, real bug bear of mine that idea that everyone in a top team is awesome and everyone in a bottom team is rubbish. Infects AA, as well as perceptions of players, pay packets and so on. If there was that much difference between players, then you'd see massive differences between, say, 5th and 13th.

And footy tipping would be super easy.

Yeah it's funny how being in a top team can even get you more frees, you are viewed as a better player etc. I played basketball in some good teams and some rubbish ones. I was always better in better teams. Ross Lyon lead teams give a perception of a lesser talent but systematic. He always gets the worse end of free kicks.

Yeah the Subiaco thing is a myth. WCE get frees there Freo get screwed. They lose the free kick count often. I have a mate who's nephew played with the Pies and he's pretty connected in footy circles. He said the way we were perceived in the footy world was as a negative club who survived on making football ugly to win. The idea that we had a whole lot of passengers became folk lore. I think that has followed to Freo. Their disciplined game makes them stifling to the better teams and there is almost an unconscious resentment towards them for ruining the free flowing elements of footy.

I don't spend much time here but what's the logic in having 100% of the Trade/Draft/FA discussion in one massive 1000 page thread? Given that there's nothing else happening for the Saints at this time of year, wouldn't it make more sense to have separate threads for (eg): Carlisle, Freeman, Aish, Kelly, Rice, Delistings, Trading Rucks, etc etc etc. That way people who think that (for instance) the Kelly rumour is a waste of time don't need to read that thread, and it feels less like you're ten pages behind on the whole thing after coming out of a two hour work meeting.

yeh got up after staying down for a bit, then kicked a goal in the next passage of play. irony is the west perth tackler stayed down with some injury.

Part of wrapping someone up in a tackle is ensuring that you protect the other player, to a degree, with your own body. So yes, damn dangerous with no regard for your opponent at all.
