I thought they were pre Nbl. They were the eminent bball team of the era. They even came up to the Isa and played us one time.

No they won a couple of NBL championships as the St Kilda Saints.

Uniform was pretty cool

Gutted to hear about Alan Rickman's passing today. :( Some of my favourite movies of all time had him in them, stealing the show. Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is my all time favourite for a host of reasons, but it'd be worth watching if only for Rickman's Sherriff of Nottingham - amazing.

Great great actor.

was very good as the bad guy In the original Die Hard.
And brilliant as Snape In the Harry Potter films as well.
But yes his sniveling nasty portrayal of the Sherriff was brilliant.
Great actor.

I can never find the right year as we head out the door and it makes you look like an idiot wearing 2011 scarves or something.
You seem to have the same problem with your nic [emoji12]

I wear my 1980s retro one or one I bought somewhere years ago that was meant to be a classy one with three stripes the full length and no logos. I hate the members scarves with the year on them. I can never find the right year as we head out the door and it makes you look like an idiot wearing 2011 scarves or something. It's wasteful too, once they are out of date they are good for nothing but the bin.

Speaking of which, Gringo, I always thought this would be a great avatar for you: a red, white and black gringo:

weren't they amigos?

I always thought a "gringo" was a somewhat derogatory term for a typical suburban white American

They're both.

And they totally fitted that description.

At one point, the baddie, El Guapo, screams, "What, are gringos falling out of the sky?!"... only for one of them to drop right in front of him.

Wonderful film.

Yes, there was a plethora of them. A plethora! [emoji851]

I cant believe my parents wouldnt let me watch The Simpsons or Jurassic Park but they were ok with Blues Brothers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrals, Stripes and 3 Amigos.

Hey CALL ME SNAKE, I know you have a new little one (congratulations) so I don't suppose you were lucky enough to be at the Sun Theatre today for the 5pm session of Hateful 8. Anyway I was thinking of you when Quentin Tarantino dropped by at the end of the session and brought Kurt Russell and Samuel L Jackson with him.

I'm feeling very lucky especially since the Sun is my favourite Melbourne cinema and I saw the rumour on Facebook just in time to get a ticket. For them to have the kudos of Tarantino 'dropping in' is fantastic and just highlights how good that area around the cinema is ... even if Heather Dell are Bulldog supporters. ;)

I'm sure your son will enjoy Hateful 8 in the lovely deco surrounds of the Sun. The 70mm print is glorious. The cast are brilliant and the plot is pure Tarantino. I'd recommend it to you for Kurt's appearance alone and when you've got a spare 3 hours check it out.
