Fair call hope she does well and enjoys it . I really do . But it has been poured down our throats and we've been told to like it . That's all I'm saying

I have heard about it on radio and a bit of build up on TV in the last few weeks but can't say I feel it's been forced on anyone. I hardly watch and free to air TV these days and seem to just watch stuff on the internet. This was good as it got the family watching and my kids are loving going to the park having a kick together. Just change the channel if you don't enjoy it. I don't watch paralympics but I'm sure that to the families and competitors it gives them enormous enjoyment.

Fair call . Cheers for the debate and not wanting me dead like usually happens on here . I sometimes just stir the pot for fun . There's a few who are a little serious. Hope your young girl has a blast

It's not atvthe competitors themselves. It's the way it has been shoved at us . Same as the cricket . Then if you say it's not up to scratch which it isn't then your shouted at. I dont bother to articulate my arguments because I don't have the time . I have a daughter and if she wants to play sport that's great but I won't be saying how amazing g women's afl or cricket is because I've watched it and it sucks
How is it not up to scratch? Are you comparing it to the AFL? Does this mean you don't watch any local footy because it's not up to scratch?

Please stay. Smart person.

Go away . Silly person
After your stupid, sexist comments about menstruation, what sort of response did you expect?

Were you just born stupid, or is it skill that you have mastered over the years?

Stirring the pot is one thing. Being a totally offensive flog to female fans on here is something totally different.

Please learn the difference.

So sensitive . How do you people go in the workplace . Must be offended by everything . Hope you wear ear muffs

C'mon lads and ladettes, you all know that 35Saints35 only gets to vent online. Because unfortunately positions like the one he is occupying just don't cut it in the real world. It's hard to be prejudiced in modern society. People call that shit out and nowadays you are likely to have footage posted online consigning you to the pile of intolerant excrement. So please recognize he is just in his safe place. Let him say his piece, feel better about yourself instead of hating on him, and just let stupid dogs lie.

Is this a high society gentlemans club . Has anyone ever told a joke . I've actually got 2 very successful businesses and have a really great time . I feel sorry for the easily outraged on here . Loosen up

People are outraged at at lot of what you say because it is genuinely atrocious. You extol opinions that my grandfather had outgrown long before he died of old age and I think you tar all of us when you express these sexist / antisocial views.
I think you probably recognise that you are being obscene otherwise you wouldn't feel the need to tell the whole board to "Loosen up", but if really are still unaware of just how offensive you are to almost everyone else here then I suggest you contact me privately and maybe I can help clarify the what's and the why's

I like the womens footy.

Hit the nail on the head there.
Anyone that expected play to be afl or even vfl level is a moron.
Its as good as local footy in a minor league.
Hell I've seen worse!

Difference is, this is the top tier of women in Australia. That makes it more interesting to me.

I hope it succeeds and we can watch the talent rise over the years.

Great spot for it, prior to the regular afl season, when we have all had 4 months off footy and are missing it.

It's so dumb that people feel like they have to act interested or get around it and if they don't - they're sexist. By all means totally let them play - I'd just rather watch paint dry.

Yeah some good points there Death Man:thumbsu:
I wasnt expecting it to be anywhere near the standard of AFL or probably even VFL to be honest. But was was really surprised with the intensity. Geez they have a red hot dip dont they.
Crowds been great , but of course id expect them to drop and level out a bit. And it still seems a bit rushed by the AFL, too many girls lured across from other sports who have never played footy. Which seems like a bit of a desperate attempt by the AFL to compete (crush) the other female sports getting a bit more coverage now. Such as Womens A-League,Big Bash and the Newly Formed Netball comp.
But its gotta start somewhere and it will only get better and it will cause a spike in young girls playing our great game. Id expect a massive improvement in skills over the next few yrs as Womens footy starts to get taken more seriously on and off the field.
Not everybody cup of tea apparently going by a lot of comments on here. Thats fair enough as well, each to their own.
Give it a few yrs to get over the growing pains and i think its gonna be a good thing for our club to be involved with:thumbsu:

I've loved the women's footy so far, it's produced a lot more than so many were expecting. Crowd numbers have been insane, they really get stuck in and have a crack which is all you can ask from any footballer, and the general standard of play isn't too bad at all - of course, if you were expecting it to be like the skill and intensity levels of the AFL, you were always going to be disappointed. Hate seeing comments on here and on Facebook though from ignorant, sexist men who still live 30 years in the past with some awful, derogatory comments. Some people can't help themselves but bloody hell, show some respect.

I expect the women's game will develop very quickly as more teams slowly enter the competition and more girls become interested in football, and it will be a huge prospect and one of the highest watched sports in the country within 5-10 years which would be a remarkable achievement.

Hahaha that was my post, I got it working finally . I was putting in the wrong details . I logged out , put in the correct details , then went to manage my account or something like that , now it showed more info then I had to sign in again this time with the details I used wrongly the first time and it worked . It had when I signed up , when it finishes etc . Then I went to videos and now I can play them all again . Sorry it's not very clear but I dint know it was going to work . My mistake was the first login was wrong even though it accepted it , it wouldn't accept it to go any further . So my first login had my email address and a password . Then later I put in a username , kremmen2 and another password and bingo . So stay away from restore app purchase if , like me you bought it through the Saints as a digital membership.

Hmmmm it's stopped working again , it worked that first time and I watched a few quarters but I've gone back a few days later and nothing . Bugger.

Useless.
You would have received an email from the AFL about activating the AFL Live Pass. I did.
I hit AFL Live Pass Support URL in the email.
To find the options are FAQ and nothing.
Typed in "How to get the Live Pass working?".
And ended up on a support page where the first post is from a St Kilda supporter who re-signed in November, had the app working till yesterday and now when he logs on he finds it wants him to pay again.
Exactly my situation, not sure about you.
There is an option to click on "restore app purchase".
He did that, as did I.
And the app hangs.
You are not alone.
Looks like a Telstra stuff up.

Mine has stopped working again , how is yours going ?

It's started again, I don't know what's going on , very frustrating. I will try it again tomorrow. Need to make sure it is working by the start of the games.

I'd be more interested in women's footy if I could support a St Kilda team.
I'm not going to for for any team that I have an inbuilt loathing for.

Been watching the NBL on Friday and Saturday nights, but the bits I did watch were pretty entertaining. Seems like a bit more freeflowing structures and not rigid like the AFL can be now. Will be just a passing thing until St Kilda comes in, if they do.

Yeah im just having a curious look at the first few games to see what its like.
So far i think its interesting but now that ive had a look i wont be taking any real interest at all untill a Saints team comes in.
Be it men, women or garden gnomes ive got no intetest in watching anything in a Collingwood or Carlton jumper.

A shame you quoted the poster. I have him on ignore which makes this forum more relaxing.
Do find it interesting the mentality of having to brag about business successes on an anonomous internet forum.

I wasnt expecting anything from the womens AFL and got what I expected.

Really happy women can play at a high and TV broadcast level but it is not for me.

Generally I find most female sport unexciting, netball, golf and others I like.

Doesnt mean much though. Dont like tonnes of male type sports as well.

Good luck to the girls but I think I will stick to AFL mens and VFL mens.

From GJ's thread showing highlights from games over the last 50 years.
He has a 1983 game at the Junction between St Kilda and Fitzroy.
Three Fitzroy players stood out: Bernie Quinlan, Paul Roos and Gary Pert.
All champions with multiple clubs.
My question:
Assume they are available as 18yos in the 2017 Draft.
Assume our list is per our current top 35 players.
We have the one pick, all three are available at that pick.

Who do we select?

Tough ask.
