Yep well that's what I get for being a tight arse I suppose. Bought 500m of 80lb fishing braid off ebay, wound about 300m on to my reel and then decided to do a pull test. I thought when it broke, that's nowhere near 80 pound. So I attached @40lb of weights to it, didn't even get off the ground. FFFFFFFuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu or whatever Barrels does.
Give them a crap rating
Talking of bad eBay purchases, have a listen to this doozy.
I bought off eBay what I thought was The Beatles in Mono - complete LP collection, which retails at over $500 if I'm not mistaken. Won it on auction for $50 but it was from Hong Kong, and I knew something was suss but I thought worst case scenario, I'll get 15 knock off Beatles records and as long as they play fine, $50 is still a pretty damn good deal.
Anyway, 2 weeks goes by and I finally get my order in the mail. It was a lot smaller than I was expecting, since it was supposed to be a big box of 12" records, but this looked more like it was going to be the CD version instead. I'm thinking ah jeez, I've been stitched up here and the blokes gonna give me a box of CD's instead of vinyl but I open it up to not find vinyl, nor CD - no, it was a cheap laser toner ink cartridge for a computer, probably worth $5 at most. I go back on eBay to complain and the guy has done a runner on me and deactivated his account. Took me nearly 2 months to get my money back.
Were all the Beatles records sold in mono?
I have a vinyl version of "Rubber Soul" which was recorded Mono, but released in Stereo. You could change the Left/Right balance and it came out like a Karaoke track because the lead vocals were all on one side.
Just had a bloody good EBay experience this week.Talking of bad eBay purchases, have a listen to this doozy.

Nice man, can't go wrong with the stones! If that's the one I'm thinking of they can go for up to $60 so that's a great bargain! My best eBay experience with records was picking up a really rare pressing of a King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard (Aussie band) album for $100 - it was a crazy price to pay, but on the second hand market it generally sells for anywhere between $250-400. I then got it signed by the entire band and it's now one of my most prized possessions, worth god knows how much but I wouldn't ever sell it anywayJust had a bloody good EBay experience this week.
Picked up an early 70s German pressing of the Rolling Stones debut LP in great condition.
At $6:95 it was an absolute bloody steal.
I have see the same ones before and they usually have a starting bid around $30.
Dont think this bloke knew how much it was worth![]()

Yeah i collect Stones stuff. Like to pick up some of the obscure compilations they released in other countries.Nice man, can't go wrong with the stones! Yeah that's it, Strangewolrd Records and Off The Hip are awesome for alternative and rock LP's too, especially the more local homegrown stuff. Melbourne is very lucky with the music scene and all the independent record stores we have aroundYeah mate on Victoria St.
