I'm in Sweden and have 2 dogs and a cat I have gotten since I got here. My wife only allows adopted animals... just one of her things.

Because Sweden is so developed there are barely any strays here so we had to adopt dogs from Spain . Sure the Aussie quarantine are going to love when I try to bring a couple of ex Spainsh street dogs into Australia.

But I have a mate living in London who brought his dog over from Australia and did it with the airlines direct. He said it wasn't so bad in the end so I reckon you should look into that option first because, like you I nearly had a heart attack the first time I looked into how much the expert firms charge.

Yeah French people I know did the airlines one and seemed easy enough.

I was looking at work in PNG a few years back and it was 2k then for my blue heeler. Currently I have a few people at work who have done the UK to Aus trip with the dogs and one is the Gordon Setter Society President(?) so she’ll be all over it mate. I’ll ask her and send details.

FMD i struggle to think of a worse human than Dutton - if there was a polar oppersite to my views and values Dutton holds them...

Seriously this leadership spill rubbish has gone to far ... i say if the governing party want to change leaders then it should be coupled with a general election ... the people should be voting on who runs the country not us voting on a guy only to have him replaced by a guys we would have never voted for ... thats not democracy ... thats a sick joke ...

Any one see the 7:30 report on Flight Centre last night ?

totally missed the mark and turned the 7:30 report into Today Tonight / ACA in my opinion ...
ill declare my wife is a Flight Centre travel consultant so i am looking at this from a somewhat biased prospective but it seems to me that 7:30 glossed over the actual issue and got caught up in the sensationalisation of the story ...
the story should have gone hard on Flight centre managment for their staff base pay rate being below the minimum wage but nah they got caught up in the mark up on flights by consultants ... NO SHIT theres a mark up they are providing a service so they should get paid for their work ...

ill declare my wife is a Flight Centre travel consultant so i am looking at this from a somewhat biased prospective but it seems to me that 7:30 glossed over the actual issue and got caught up in the sensationalisation of the story ...
the story should have gone hard on Flight centre managment for their staff base pay rate being below the minimum wage but nah they got caught up in the mark up on flights by consultants ... NO SHIT theres a mark up they are providing a service so they should get paid for their work ...

there is a story but they missed it ... they are currenty undergoing and EBA based on the strange way Flight Centre works out their pay scale .. Fair Work are investigating them for this as its not looking as if its above board but that message was lost totally in the story .. talking to two bitter former employees who put they version of events and practices overshaddowed everything ... i mean one of the former employees actually made the comment " if the customer can buy a flight for $1000.00 online and they come to Flight Centre and Flight Centre can get it for cheaper the flight centre consultant will mark it up to $1000.00 ..... " ummmm NO SHIT SHERLOCK .. thats sales , you buy something at cost put a margin on it and sell it for profit ..
people bang on about "well i can get it cheaper from webjet" well i can tell you the amount of times my wife gets a call after hours from clients who have lost their tickets or need an urgent change to their plans or have missed a connection and she fixes it for them i would like to see you try and get Webjet to provide that service.. and lets be honest here the mark ups are not even close to the so called "thousands of dollars gouged from customers" that the former employees mentioned .. in fact half the time the consultants are doing the price beat from the online providers that they themselves pay for out of thier monthly commission (one of the things being looked at by Fair Work) so you screw the poor consultant out of their livelyhood...
