You know that moment in a Stephen King novel/movie where everything goes a little too quiet right before the whole town starts losing their minds?

That's what it feels like in here right now....

Judging by some of the things I've been reading over the past few weeks I'd say people have already lost their minds.

Bring on Round 1.
You need to stop reading my posts then, that should help 🙃

I also would like round 1 to be brought on!

Struggling to remember lines in his old age, so has retired. One of the greats.

Stanley Kubrick's The Shining is probably in my all time Top Ten favourite movies !

The original Hong Kong flick "Infernal Affairs" was pretty good too. So was "Black Mass" about Whitey Bulger. Departed was an inspired mash-up of the two.
Black Mass 👌🏻👌🏻

Hey Elmer...just noticed you're a fellow Leeds tragic. I started a thread on Talking Carlton back in 2007, when we were in the depths of the third tier, called The Leeds United Revival. 12 years, 41 pages, 800+ posts and 1 promotion later, it's still (unlike our strikers), going strong.

Cheers, will check it out later. Honestly hard to tell which team has broken my heart more in the past 15 odd years, Carlton or Leeds.

But I cannot imagine my life being better if didn't support either, even through rough times, both LUFC and the Navy Blues have greatly enriched my life (and met lifelong friends through supporting both)

Ben White to return in next transfer window.

Yep, heartache on both fronts. The parallels between the two clubs in the early 2000s are quite freaky actually.

I thought of this and I think it's a question of character and work ethic. The ones who have it will want to work hard and do well at whatever road they take. The ones who don't probably wouldn't get drafted anyway, or if they did, would not last long in the AFL system.

Sorry, does that sound too harsh?

I was a terrible student myself. Somehow I still ended up with a teaching degree... ;)
I always told my daughter her chances of getting her teaching Degree were Bukcley's & Nun. she has been teaching for 6 years and confessed that she wanted to drop out but got though just to spite me. Moral of the story, you don't have to be a sensitive, new age, supportive father, to get through to them :tearsofjoy:

Hey, whatever it takes, right? ;)

and this makes you proud of yourself somehow?
In a way yes. Considering i have been working 7 days since she has been 6 months old. both kids turned out alright all credit must go to their mother "the good Cop" I was the Magistrate that had them referred to me when they seriously transgressed. My daughter was a regular offender, hence the Buckley's & Nun. If i could go back in time i should have stayed in the public service.:anguished:.
