"Why are u so desperate to protect repeat, dangerous offenders that hurt innocent people?
How is protecting the community "right wing"?
Is justice, community safety and a "fair go" concepts that only the "right" are willing to talk about?
Justice, community safety and a fair go are hardly right wing issues obviously. And the words themselves are less important than the meanings different political ideologies give to them anyway.
However the Murdoch Press' coverage of the 'African' 'crime wave' doesn't concern itself with justice or a fair go. And even their spruiking of 'community safety' seems opportunistic, given the fact that youth violence is mostly perpetrated by non-Africans (if you look at the stats I posted above).
As for me being 'desperate' to protect offenders, I did post that I agree with proper sentencing for criminals acts - if you bothered to read what I actually posted.[/QUOTE]
I did read your post. My "desperate to protect offenders" comment was born from your response to BTron who said that where possible high level offending from those wishing to become Aust citizens should be deported.
For example, mr smith is from Ireland and looking to become an Aust citizen. He commits an armed robbery here. Gets bailed and then assaults someone.
We should be doing everything in our power to send mr smith back to Ireland.
We have enough scum here already that make ordinary people's lives a misery through violent crime. There is no need to import more.
In relation to the herald sun, yes they have clearly jumped board and using people's anger to get hits on their site. Almost as funny as Fairfax chasing it's tail trying to frame their leftie opinion. For months they wouldn't print "African" in relation to crime. Then they jump board naming and shaming, even getting a former Sudanese immigrant, now proud Aussie, to write an opinion piece THAT THERE IS A CLEAR PROBLEM with African crime. Then a couple of days later they reverse position, back to their original position of no problem, and trot out the immigration activist saying it's "not a problem and perspective is needed"
I wonder what perspective the poor lady had last night when 14 youths stormed her house, assaulted her and robbed her?
