Rolling Stone once did a Yearbook.

Excellent summary of the past year across all fields and for many years i collected them from 1986 through to the mid 00s.

Gat forward to 2017 and $10 for the Feb edition and its a waste of $10.

End of that collection.
i dont like Rolling Stone (there views) but i do get sometimes get an issue of there's sometimes (depending on the lead story)

Only buy the 'Yearbook' and if any of these three feature on the cover- U2- Springsteen or Pink Floyd.

The rest is meh these days.

Music has passed me by...in the 90s I was a subscriber very month.

I won’t be mixing this with anything :thumbsu:
At my old work we have a guy Jack that is still coming most days well into his 70s, which no one minds because he is brilliant. Few years ago he walked into the tea room where a few lads about 50 years his junior were arguing over Test Cricket vs T20. Jack strided past their table, scoffed at them with "Twenty Twenty reminds me of the time I came home to find my son mixing my Glenmorganie with Fanta" then continued on his way out the door.

I didn’t end up opening it. I had a bit of CC & Dry instead. My father in law is coming over on Saturday for his 82nd b’day. I’m putting on a spit, I’ll drink it with him, he’ll be chuffed

I remember the “Hot” issue in 1990. My favourite band The Angels were a main feature but the cover was Kate Ceberano in the bath and nobody would believe that wasn’t why I bought it.
I remember when they put Suzi from Baby Animals on the front cover...and claimed in the next edition that they did not have the ability to place the other Band members into a photo shoot for the front cover.

Hello U2...Nirvana...etc etc

I went there with school when I was a kid, our tour guide was a former inmate that really enjoyed telling us about what he was in for “I stole cars, not just any cars, I stole Ferrari’s, Lambos an that”. They showed us a collection of shiv’s and pens turned into tattoo guns. We thought it was hilarious cause the bloke was obviously trying to impress us but he was such a weasel none of us took him seriously.

I’d put money on him being back inside

When I went back to uni they had a promotion where I could get a 12 month subscription for peanuts, so I thought why not? About the 3rd issue sent had a front cover of teenage Britney Spears in a bikini with a headline of "Barely Legal". Had no idea when it turned into a glossy version of The Sun.

Didn't renew the subscription, but they still a sent a copy for 12+ months after trying to lure me back. Many never got out of the plastic.

Check out this site which shows lightening strikes from around the world.

Some parts of NSW are getting 60 lightening strikes per minute atm.

The road from West Wyalong to Coonabarabran has some of the most intense storms I've driven thru. Lightning striking less than 10 metres from the roads every half a second... its full on. That whole section of the Darling Basin, from the Hay Plains to central western Queensland generates some wild storms and they travel east for hundreds of kms, all the way to the coast. We're in line for some this arvo...

My next door neighbour is about a km away. I was looking out the window facing his place and there was about one bolt every 10 seconds for 10 minutes in a space of land about 1km X 300m - it was insane, like the sky was trying to kill whatever was in that paddock. The whole area under those storms would have been getting a bolt a minute for sure. Sometimes its just non stop, one endless thunderclap and constant lightning. At night sometimes you can read by the lightning. It is so frequent that by the time one bolt has stopped lighting the area the next has hit and the clouds never stop glowing.
