The only reason would be because his BE actually wasn't 147. If he went up in price it would've been less than 131.

He'll be upgraded to Selwood, Bartel or maybe Ablett in my team. They will average 105+

What is the value of a trade?


Is a trade worth getting rid of a non-playing rookie, just for the sake of the player value increase you get by having a rookie who IS getting games and appreciating.

i.e. McGovern -> B Smith

I don't need smith on the ground, but every week I see McGovern sitting on 80k and not looking like getting games this year is killing me.

It'll cost me 40k but I will make that back straight away because his BE is negative.

Thoughts would be appreciated.

So they are allowed to play a full game of VFL/WAFL/SANFL football the next day if there team plays the next day and this would only occur if the coach thought someone like Gaff could do with a full hitout and they were smashing Richmond by 60 points and they didn't need Gaff to come on, as he would be better served to play a full game for match fitness.

Hibberd will probaley debut this week. So alot of teams will be trading him after Round 6. Coad has played 2 games already. But got a 2-3 week injury. So will probaley be ready to downgrade too After Round 6/7. But not a whole lot of options coming through anywhere esle across the ground.

Its gonna be hard to trade in Coad with his bye in round 9, alot of people will struggle if they still have all these GC rookies hanging around in there team. He will likely miss 2-3 by all reports so at best he misses round 5 and 6 than returns round 7, likely to return round 8 after a game in the 2nds. How many will trade him in for simply one game than be happy to have others waiting around in the backline, midfield and forward for round 9?

Really depends on trading after round 5,6 and 7 i guess. But that still only allows you to get 3 GC players out by the time you look to bring Coad in which only means you reduce GC players by 2. I dont see a whole lot of point trading after this week.

Very situational and everyone is under a different circumstance makes this year so much more interesting.

Is there a way of doing the partial lockout VC trick like in round 1 again? Fairly sure i will be trading at least 1 player this week... so if i give him captain then trade him out will i then have no captain and be able to name my captain on friday?

IMO, he should be dropped this week. I rated him in preseason but now he's turned me off him. Shit disposal, shit decision making, fumbling all the time and giving away too many FKs. To stand out in a team that generally butchers the ball says a lot.

I reckon he's only a 30% chance to play either round 5 or 6. Scott likes to keep faith with the rookies so that's the only reason I give him any chance.

Thanks! Well at least we should have final teams for Saturday and Sunday before the full lockout kicks in Saturday afternoon. Only extended squads for the Monday and Tuesday matches tho I'd imagine, which will probably make the what to do with Krakour decision harder for some people.

Coad's injury is now listed as up to 12 weeks. He has to go.
