Random thought in my head turned into completely random question just cos it popped in my head.

Does anyone remember when Port were fantasy relevant and worth watching?

You would watch the game with 2 Cornes and Burgoynes and maybe Lade.

Yes I'm weird, sorry

Remember when Spida Everitt was the only player to average a ton and 1900 was a fantastic score?

Yes, I've been playing that long. :o

Not when the were fantasy relevant, but I sat through an entire Port game last year because I had Ben Jacobs or Lobbe (can't remember which one now) on the field during a bye round. :o

yes Francou was around 56k coming off the knee. Tredrea was a DT god when key forwards were dominant

Yes the high possession footy these days has killed the fantasy relevance of most key forwards. The rewards for goals just can't compete with ball winners.

I play a cats league in ultimate footy and that is much better at rewarding goal kicking.

Just wondering why there isn't a complete Bigfooty ladder this year? I know we have the Club Board Championships, but it would be great to see a complete run down of where everyone sits in the rankings like last year. And yes, I do realise it's a lot of effort :)

Biggest ever to be recorded whilst DT was actually a thing.

There's been much higher, but years and years ago.

Very green DT coach, first year playing. Looking for some advice. Original reason for playing was trying to shutup an annoying co-worker who's always going on about his 'elite', 'boss' team. Ended up getting addicted

Excuse the fact I have almost no ****ing clue what I'm doing. This is how I learn I guess? Some of you guys have probably been playing for years, so I thought who better to ask.

Gotten myself into a sticky situation with some higher priced players doing pretty badly. I don't know if I should focus on getting rid of them, or focus on getting some of these rookies or 'cash cows' as I hear them called. I think I've got a good amount of rookies as is, but a few more have caught my eye over the last few weeks.

Here's my team -

What should be my priority?

I'd like to grab Horsley, but don't know if that trade would be better spent on getting rid of some of the pricier under-performing players.

Massively appreciate any bones you guys can throw me. I'll be forever in your debt :footy:

Hi mate.

That's a surprisingly good team for someone who's never played before.

Looking at that I'd agree Smith > Horesly/Adams would be one trade to make just because they are going to rise so much in value this week. If Smith doesn't play I'd pull the trigger on him. You've got plenty of trades in hand.

I'd also look at upgrading Walker and Tippett when you can. Ideally you want your forwards averaging 90+ and I can't see them getting near that, even if Walker kicks 4 goals a game.

The other major problem your team seems to have is that there is an enormous number of players with a round 11 bye.

Bugg, Hanley, Adcock, Hargrace, Hombsch, Mohr
Thompson, Greene, MacDonald, Smith
Walker, Tippett, Kennedy, Callinan, Hampton

If you're interested in a high overall ranking that's going to hurt because you'll be collecting nearly ten zero's in round 11.

If you're only concerned with beating your mate then it might be ok. You'll have to conceed a loss that round but you'll have most of your team for rounds 12/13. Which could result in 2 wins depending on how your opponents in those rounds play it.

Either way I don't think there's too much you can do to fix it with 5 rounds to go.

Best of luck.

Adding to that. Looking at their break evens I'd say Anthony, Hombsch or Milera are probably going to slow down with their cash generation over the next few weeks so it might be worth offloading one of Anthony or Milera in the coming weeks to Adams and using the cash to upgrade Tippett to another forward like Sidebottom or Beams if you can afford it. Tippett has a break even of ~150 whearas Walkers is only ~30. So Tippett's price will nose dive over the coming weeks and Walker should increase, so getting rid of Tippett should be the priority.

EDIT: I'll read it properly next time.

Also try to get Goddard into your backline next week at the expense of one of Hombsch, Hanley or Adcock.

Out of curiosuty how much cap space do you have free?
Agree with all of this, I would be looking to ditch Tippett as soon as possible, while getting in Horsley and Adams

Did u mean Deledio and not Goddard, as he already has him?
