Agreed. Must focus on the needs rather than the wants.
Who do you think we should go after in the off season????? We definitely need to find a key forward but I don't know where we could get one from. What about going after Kosi? Post your ideas in here.

I agree with that Splendini about finding a replacement for Waite, but is Gunston a genuine marking tall or a lead up forward?
We need someone who can clunk marks, not a player who needs it lace out like Walker.
i guess you can't look a gift horse in the mouth if we trade for Gunston.
Forget trading Lucas, Hampson or Russell to get Gunston.
Completely disagree. If we didn't focus on our needs, we would still have no backline, no Kreuzer and an even beefier midfield. We did what we had to do last year and basically drafted/traded for a backline.I disagree. If we were to focus on our 'wants' more often we'd find that we wouldn't have as many 'needs'. If there's been a problem with our recruiting, then that's basically it.
What do you guys think of us maybe chasing Gumbleton? I know he is injury prone, but we know he can play, and could come cheap? Would it be worth the risk to get him?
This is a 'random trade hypothetical' thread so here goes...
How about targetting Johnathan Brown as theat 'blue chip' forward?
Vossy is a madman after all... and God knows Brisbane need the Picks and youth after Voss stuffed up the Fevola trade and cruelled the current rebuild.
Brownie has turned 30 this year, and next year is on the end of a 4 year deal (in time for free agency). Got a few years left in him yet (while Mitchell and co develop). 2-3 years probably, depending on injuries.
Wont get near the finals again before retirement with Brisbane. Be a win for Brisbane (helps the rebuild), win for Brown (gets back to Vic before retirement and get another chance at a flag), win for the Blues.
Say... JR to Adelaide for (Davis) Compo pick; Our 1st rounder + Compo to the Bears.
Flame away.

Swann said the club would concentrate on list management... and that it would be specific when trading, suggesting a key forward was a priority.
"However centre half-forwards don't grow on trees and you have to give something good to get something good," he said.
"It has been a good year and now we need to make the top four next year to give us a real chance.
I reckon we're going hard at Sam Reid.
