So Tom Mitchell had his 1000th disposal for Hawthorn. Took him 28 games.

Previous fastest were John Platten and Dean Anderson who took 45 games.
Insane stat. What a ball magnet he is!

And what about when the opponent who beat them in the Semi Final actually goes on to make or win the GF?

I don't see why there'd be any shame in going out in straight sets to the Bulldogs in 2016 when they proved to be the best team in September.

Decent chance that the two teams who beat us in finals this year, will square off in the last game of the season too

How many players does it take to win a premiership?

Here is a graph of the number of players used by Hawthorn in any season. The red line is the average number of players used. The orange dots are premierships. Not once did we use above the average in terms of players used during a premiership year. Look at 2009. Massive issues with the list, missed finals after winning a premiership.

For the second season in a row, Hawthorn has only 1 Peter Crimmins medallist on its list. Not sure this has ever happened before.

It's an amazing stat. No one on hawthorn's list except Tom Mitchell has ever won a Crimmins medal. And that is astounding. We cleaned out all of our recent ones when Gibson, Lewis, Mitchell and Hodge left in short order.

As it currently stands, of all our 1,976 games, only 1 has been played without a past or future HFC B&F player – 1962 round 12 v Footscray.

Nice graph. It visualises the adage that low-injuries leads to finals glory.

so that will remain unless Tom is injured or misses a game for the next few years as I can see him winning the PCM again next year and likely the year after.

Worps upholds the stat as he played all 22 games. So still just the one game in our history without a past or future HFC B&F player.

Do people realise that Hawthorn's game against Geelong at Kardinia Park was the clubs 2,000th game. 984 wins. 1005 losses and 11 draws

Silk has slipped by Madden to be number 6 on the Games Played list. Fingers crossed he gets the 5 required to fully pass Harvey (not just 4 and an alphabetic technicality).

3. 403 Kevin Bartlett RI
