Drama continues at the household. Kitchen fumigated with smoke coming from properly charcoaled chicken drumsticks (left on the gas stove for too long) because a Chinese housemate and their misses decided to go on one of their frequent heated arguments in their bedroom, abandoning what they had on the stove. Almost suffocated walking through the kitchen the smell of some food burned to charcoal is certainly not a healthy thing to cope with.

Do enjoy hearing Chinese people argue in their language though, funny stuff.

I keep getting Geelong Cats membership info in my mail and email, so I'm thinking I should send the membership team the following email. Thoughts or edits to improve the wording???

Email:

Hi there,
I am a Fremantle Dockers member, but I keep receiving emails and letters in the mail from you about joining the Cats. This, I can assure you, will NEVER happen. Apparently I even have an account ID with you (XXXXXX).

Although I can understand the effort that you are now having to go to in order to get people to join the Cats cause (now that the hayday is well and truly over), please refrain from sending any more information to me as I already have plenty of toilet paper in my household, and I find that your membership forms can often cut when wiping.

Thanks in advance

Did you ever go to a Geelong game in Melbourne?

I've been getting the same type of e-mails from the Melbourne Football Club for the past three or four years. I've been a Carlton member the entire time.

I'm wondering if its an AFL / ticketing agency type situation.

Yeah mate, went to the Geelong Freo game last year where Mundy missed after the siren. Keep getting hammered with stuff from Geelong since then...

Silly targeted marketing. I'd bet the clubs don't even know that we're receiving that (and wouldn't care, either).

Hurry up and move to Darwin.

Stop being a homo.
After three years of flirting with the idea, its finally happening on Saturday.

I am going to leave what's important here and my job to try my luck in Darwin.

I'm over two years of getting up at 5am 5-6 days a week to work in a warehouse under idiot managers. I didn't get an enviro eng degree to do that.

Perth looks dead and I have found nothing in my field since I moved back two years ago. And the other major cities aren't much chop.

Darwin may or may not be much chop but it's the first time in my life I am going to take a big gamble, quitting a stable job and having lots of bills and debt to pay to try a new place.

My best friend is in the same situation as you. He's an enviro and hasn't had work since July last year! It's pretty grim in your industry :( he has three kids (single dad) so is pretty stuck in WA. Good luck with your new venture!

"Breust was involved in a scary incident after he was slung into the boundary fence where a Dockers fan appeared to make contact with him. A stadium official later confirmed that fan had been ejected from the game for his actions."

Just realised today reading the article that I was only a few rows in the aisle behind this wingnut guy in the Fox hat that got kicked out that game was. Was wondering why they were kicking him out at the time, did he wack him or something?

With his anchor?
Maybe I got mixed up thought it was the guy with the hat... Edit actually I think it was the anchor guy (and he just left it behind because he didn't have it with him leaving) because he had to walk past someone else also arguing with security. They came down grabbed him and took him up the top. He then came back and sat down again for a couple of minutes before someone came back and took him out.

Geez it was pretty rowdy down in the cheap 'restricted view' seats.. (even though most of them down there aren't whatsoever if you know where to pick, would take it any day over sitting in the 3 tier stand.)

Its an interesting market. All the friends I graduated with that got into grad programs have still got their jobs and are now senior engineers. The ones that got fired/redundant in late 2012 to 2014 have really struggled to find work since. One of the friends I graduated with is now doing an electrical apprenticeship.

I'm going to try and get my foot back in the door because spending all that time at uni to get a degree that is very employable when the market is normal and then not using it is a waste.

And what happened to Chops, he was a good poster and great bloke.

He's just doing manual labour jobs like brick paving. I've told him he has to try to re-invent himself. Luckily he is really frugal and had invested in a few properties and is financially ok, but it's his self esteem I worry about.

I thought the anchor just looked so threatening lol

If it's the one I'm thinking of, he didn't wack him, but it looked as if he was gonna slap him but he withdrew just before when the contact would have been made.

Five weeks in and no luck.

Got an interview within a few days of arrving, said they were interesting in hiring me in a few weeks time, a month passes and hear nothing.

Supposed to get a phone interview on Thursday for another job, was told to stay well alert for the phone call, a week later no phone call.

Get promised a week's work two weeks ago, the job ends after three days.

Get promised at least 8 hours of work today, shift gets cut after 4.

This place's recruitment systems are a joke. Some people are too lazy to run a chook raffle.

Given the amount of spending on relocation I have done I have gotta hope I don't go bankrupt which is a chance in the next month.

As a past employer in your direct field Azz, I can't help but feel that you're doing something wrong.

I don't know if it's your CV, your interview presence or something else, but you certainly seem to have the necessary drive, but something is not clicking.

I would like to send you a PM.

Some honest feedback would be very helpful, because I know from experience many employers like their Chinese whispers.

Anyone know what that thing is on the Belmont Racecourse grounds at the moment that looks like the world's biggest playground slide?

I want one!
