This is true. You'll rage in the next week though ...

I believe you are wronggggg

EDIT: You were right after all. My bedroom light globe has blown, and the only ones we have in the house are 25 watts. Rojo won't go down to IGA to buy one. So I am raging. And he's sitting next to me booing me...

After feeling what it's like when the wind chill hits -60, anything feels warm. Anything, I tells ya.

When I finally have another summer, it's going to hurt bad. I can tell already.

Yeah, F*** that for a game of darts. I don't love the heat, but I think i'd die in cold weather like that.

I wanna move overseas at some stage but I don't think I could handle the cold.

You do get used to the cold eventually. Maybe not the intense -60 type days, but -20 to -30 doesn't feel that bad anymore. If you ever do move to a frosty place like this, do yourself a favour and get yourself some Icebreaker thermals. Remember that name. They're freakin' awesome.

If you want to live overseas, I can't recommend it highly enough. I didn't know a soul this side of the Pacific when I came here but now I love it so much that I'm already dreading leaving. I'm not even supposed to leave until November!

Travelling to a country doesn't do it justice. You have to fully experience the culture by becoming a part of it. Living and working in America was the best decision I ever made.

That goes for the rest of you, too. If you've ever thought of going overseas for an extended amount of time, do it. Take a step out of your comfort zone and get on a plane. There's way too many people to meet, too much to learn, too many places to see, too much cool stuff to do, too many sweet experiences to have and too many different types of beer to sample to stay in one place for too long.

Sorry for getting all preachy and stuff.

Yeah, I wanna go live in Canada for a while. I'll miss Australia and AFL but as you said it's something that should be done.

Especially while i'm young (Preferably before any offspring!).

What exactly are you doing there? Just working your way around?

Blardy hell, esti is going to nail me for saying this now, but far kit. I wouldn't mind doing some time in Canadia too but there are places over there that are becoming states of Australia. Whistler/Blackcomb, Sun Peaks and Big White are all infested with our types (not that there's anything wrong with that, but I can hang out with Aussies anytime in Australia. I want to do Canadian things and hang with Canadians if I'm in Canadia.) Vancouver is supposed to be one of the best cities to live in on the face of the earth.

Right now I'm working as a lift operator at a ski resort called Big Sky, in southwestern Montana. Three mountains, 400 inches of snowfall annually, 1300 and something metres of vertical and a peak elevation of about one and a half Mt Kozsciuskos (god dammit I can never spell that right) make this one of the best ski resorts the continent has to offer and I'm here working, skiing and drinking beer until mid April. From there, I'm going to travel around the country picking up work wherever possible until the end of November when my visa expires.

Highly recommend working in a ski resort if you ever get the chance. Completely different from WA obviously and skiing is surely one of the greatest sports in the world. If you learn when you're young, you can ski until you're 70 or 80 if you keep yourself healthy. Might have to ski some slopes that aren't pants shittingly steep, but nonetheless. The major downside to resort life though is that the ratio kinda sucks, if you know what I mean. And I'm sure you do. Just wave that magic wand known as an accent though and all of a sudden the odds stack up in your favour ;)

Shouldn't you be over here?

;)

Yeah, yeah, smartarse. You win. I've slotted nicely into category one and category two reared its ugly head early in the post. At least I'm apologetic for it! :p

IIRC it was you talking up the whole backpacking caper many hundreds of posts ago in this thread... don't make me dig it up now! ;)

Yeah don't worry about me, I'm just jealous.

I should be backpacking around Europe by the end of July if all goes to plan.

Sweet. Have you got enough time to try and cover the whole place (or as much as possible) or are you going to focus on a smaller sort of area?

It's a shame you'll probably miss Le Tour by a matter of a few weeks, that would be great to go and watch a stage or two up in the Alps or the Pyrenees. Not so much for the racing action, but more for the hysteria that goes with it.

Not sure yet. Going to my uncle's wedding in Ireland in July so I'm tossing up whether to backpack around Europe for a month or so after that and save some money for Asia, or to blow the whole lot on a longer tour of Europe and miss Asia.

I'm leaning towards the first option because my uncle should be able to hook me up with some work in Ireland afterwards and I'll be able to hop over and see more of the continent then.

Good to see you're enjoying yourself BKBP.

So soccer's gay but skiing and cycling are cool now?

I must be getting old. :p

Vancouver is sinking Big Kev. Better get there before it's all gone. ;)

Esti - was does Torres mean in Spanish again? Is it, "Hack choker that couldn't find the back of a net if he was a ******* fish"?

That ******* fish scored over 30 goals last year.

I'm pretty sure it means 'sexy god'. Does to me anyway.

I'd say he might well be amongst the Liverworst, and you should look for your sexy hunks of man meat elsewhere. Someone less... how do you say, Dal Santoish. Plays like him too.

Perhaps someone like Kuyt, who is a dead ringer for Mundy.

Guys & Gals help settle a friendly bet.

If you were attacked by short people of average strength ...how many of them would it take to beat you?

Note they will all attack at the same time ...not one at a time, and they come at any angle.

You have no weapons they have no weapons.

How many to beat you - we came up with an average answer and I want to check it. We need a neutral source and I think you guys qualify to answer this obviously very important, scientific question.

Include your reasoning if you want.

ahhhh the old midget debate. Classic!!!

as for how many it would take, it would depened on their agressiveness and fighting ability of course but i'd say anywhere from 2 to 4, with the difference being made up of how early they get in a nut punch, after that your on the floor and it's all over
