It is and it isn't. It isn't illegal to ride 2 abreast if both riders are in the confine of a bicycle lane. It is illegal at all times where there a) is no lane and b) there is insufficient room to ride abreast and the rider on the outside is then outside the bike lane (unless they are overtaking, then that's fine).

Nearly. It's legal to ride two abreast as long as you are no more than 1.5m apart. Makes no difference if there's a lane or not. Except, as you say, you can't ride outside the bike lane abreast a rider in the bike lane.

Going to laugh at all the hypocrites in the next few weeks jumping on the Tomic bandwagon, who were the same people who hate Hewitt cause he is arrogant. Tomic is just as bad if not worse.

Agreed fully. Never understand why people are so angry at bike riders. They've got as much right to be on the road as other people and for the most part obey the road rules perfectly fine.

Do you know the meadows to goolwa rd? Between meadows and ashbourne, the road twists and turns, goes up and down. Bike riders are quite good on that road. Most of the time, there are two who ride abreast at about 20ks. They take up most of the road, and there is little opportunity to overtake. That's why I hate bike riders, pretty much the only times I see them are in situations like this.

I don't know, I see more cars breaking the road rules than bikes.

Motorbikes are another story altogether though. I reckon I see twice as many breaking the rules as I do see staying within them.

Well today when I was driving home from work I pulled up at a red light and there was a motorbike and a pushbike both right at the front.

The motorbike stopped but the pushbike went straight through the red light.

The amount of shitty Hewitt hate posts I've seen on facebook.... While Hewitt can be a bit of a knob I love his never say never attitude and something I think a lot of people overlook.

The Ramsay/Port Adelaide by-election signs are well and truly up at the moment for the respective by-elections. What amazes me is the amount of signs from the independents that are in the wrong areas - I've seen Ramsay candidate signs in Mawson Lakes and Port Adelaide signs at Hollywood Plaza!

So long as we keep that out of the pre season training thread I don't really mind!

Also, have any of you guys brought the 2012 addition of the AFL prospectus? Some very interesting stats for the Crows, I guess a lot in which we already knew (from watching us play) but it's very interesting to see just how much we change it around from when Bickley took over.

Here are a couple of the interesting points I found:
- When Craig stood down at the end of round 18, Adelaide was ranked the worst stoppage team in the league (had 99 fewer clearances then the opposition). From this we were outscored by 241 points ranking us 16th.
- Under Bickley the Crows were +35 points from the clearances on the opposition ranking us 2nd overall in the final 6 games.

It's also worth while remembering which teams we played in those last 6 weeks..

Note that I'm not trying to excuse the abysmal clearance rates achieved during the final year of Craig's tenure, only pointing out that the rates achieved under Bicks should be taken with a grain of salt.

Very true, more of just showing that we can be a fair better side then we showed for most of the season. It may also mean that some of the position switches Bickley did worked out well.
