Sevenhill Fire Situation
The Sevenhill fire is currently burning within control lines however the weather conditions forecast for Friday 4 Jan 2013 are of concern.
The strong northerly wind forecast for tomorrow morning could cause the fire to jump control lines meaning the fire could burn in a southerly direction ...towards Leasingham, Watervale and Auburn. Residents, businesses and property owners to the south of the fire should be extra vigilant Friday morning until the wind changes to a westerly direction due around lunchtime.
The area of concern then is to the east of the current fire area towards Main North Road (also known as Horrocks Highway) and Mintaro. People in this area should carefully watch conditions and act immediately if the fire breaks control lines.
Later in the afternoon the wind is due to come strongly from the south putting Clare at risk. The fire could break control lines and move in the direction of Clare. This could even occur late into the evening and early Saturday morning.
It is important that people continue to monitor the CFS website, radio stations and Facebook through this period as well as using their local networks to keep informed of any changes. All people or businesses in these areas are encouraged to enact their Bushfire Survival Plans. Also consider any guests, staff, patrons or visitors who may be unfamiliar with the bushfire risk and the location of Safer Places.
