Not my experience.

Law is far harder. Arts is a bludge.

Seriously?

I find law to be a degree in common sense. Simple application of fairly basic/logical theories to simple factual situations.

Whereas Arts is bullshit intellectualism put out into the purely theoretical world.

Also, Law you can bluff your way through not having read/done anything for 6 months relative to Arts.

But to each their own.

You can do very well in an arts by only attending two weeks of lecture per semester.

Far easier than trying to learn the gazillion cases and all the elements of an action in negligence for example.

Ah, this is probably the problem, I keep choosing the politics/history compulsory tutorial subjects! Hence loads of readings which you actually talk about each week as in what did Proffesor/Doctor Dick have to say about the femminisation of rabbits this week?

And you don't actually have to learn/read the cases! Particularly Torts! Still, due to certain resources I have available I'm able to shortcut most of the Law reading.

What Arts subjects did you do?

Mate, i majored in politics/international studies. Would be doing honours in them now if i hadnt made the switch into grad Law. You're doing it wrong... dont worry about every weeks readings. Theres two essays a semester, which make up 90% of the grade. The key is to study the two topics you intend to write on only. The rest of the time you can bluff your way through.

Its probably the overloading im doing thats screwing me over though. Interesting though, apparently something like half of the first semester torts class failed the topic. I didnt, but i can believe it.

I have no idea how anyone could have failed that torts class. I did so little work that semester, and had a pack of army reserves morons in my group for the group project, and yet still came away with a HD from memory. I took a leave of absence from law halfway through my 3rd year and haven't yet gone back, but I was always surprised at how easy it all was.
Arts really varies a lot more between courses. Some of the english ones I did were brutal just in the amount of reading you had to do. If you actually wanted to be able to contribute to tutorials, you were effectively reading a book a week. If all you wanted to do was pass you could do it far more effortlessly than in law, but if you wanted to actually understand and take in what was happening from week to week, I found most of my arts stuff harder in that respect.

Might be because im not doing Law at adelaide. Perhaps we're not all talking the same Torts class.

Lim notes? What exam did you have today and how did it go? I've got Evidence in a fortnight and then (touch wood) dunzo and I can get back to enjoying simple pleasures like the Melbourne Cup and showbags, which only have horrible associations at the present time.

On another note, I trust that when semester finishes, this thread will go in a whole new direction... or perhaps it's only those of us who are "studying" for exams that are loitering around BF in late October.

last time I used the ignore function I couldnt resist opening their posts to read it

but now I just ignore this persons comments.

BUT WHY DO PEOPLE STILL HAVE TO QUOTE HIM

Lim notes? .

I prefer to use that as the get out of jail free card ;)

Arts American History one, easy as piss except for the fact the air conditioner was broken and my hand became too sweaty to hold the pen!

Property was my only law subject this semmester.

Also, RL, don't worry, give it a few weeks and the only random things on my mind will be drinking exploits!

Exactly my thoughts!:thumbsu: 3 more weeks, then the drinking begins!:D

While you guys are bludging around doing a Bachelor of Arts (which really should be renamed a Bachelor of Facebook), some of us are doing worthwhile (well less worthless anyway) courses :p:D;). Here's my final year project:
