What an absolute shitter of a Chem exam today! I think I've JUST done enough to pass, but its gonna be way too close for my liking! Ive also heard there is some type of scaling system with Uni exams that may well help me thankfully.

why do department stores only go up to sock sizes 11-13

dont they know some people out there have a foot size of 15
Been having that problem for a while.

Have to go to basketball stores for socks.

Finding a real nice pair of dress shoes is a pain in the rectum.

My fiancee took an honours-level maths exam at Adelaide Uni a few years back where she only even attempted to finish two of the five questions given, and just made cursory starts in the other three.

After scaling she ended up with an 86.
WOW! That does instill a lot more confidence Stabby!:thumbsu: Even before scaling I think I'll just pass, but this could even get me a credit or distinction.:D

Been there, done that. Got 75 for a 2nd year physics (optics) exam.

The exam was 1.5 hours, we were allowed to take 1x A4 sheet of "crib notes" into the exam. Sort of half way between open & closed book.

I walked out of the exam thinking I couldn't have got more than 50% if I'd had a week to do it, sitting at home with the textbooks open in front of me. If I'd scored 100% for everything I'd done I couldn't have scored more than 30%. My one (big) consolation was that I knew everyone else was in the same boat - I was in the top third of the class, so if I couldn't do it then I knew the bulk of the rest would have done just as badly (the exception being those freaks who got 100 in year 12).

As far as I can determine, the scoring system was 20 marks for turning up + raw score * 2.

Once in third year Engineering I did an exam I thought was going to be easy - it was 3 questions long but after I finished the first I realised I was taking way too long. For the remainder of the exam I was a frenzied mess just trying to power through as much of the exam as possible before I ran out of time about halfway through the third question.

When I walked out a friend asked "so, which of the three questions did you do?" and I nearly cried.

Moral of the story: always read the front page, cos you might only have to do one of the three questions in the exam :p

I LOVE Foxtel's new blue colour scheme!!

mines gone all white D: i'm liking all the new movie channels though

A friend of mine did that yesterday but in reverse.

He had 3 questions to answer but didn’t read the front page and assumed it was one of three, he only answered one.

He will either have a fail or a resubmit on his hands.

O dear! Well our lecturer has given us a pre warning to the format, so should be alright. But I will read the front page just in case!;)

Sounds similar to a Data Analysis & Stats for Food & Wine Business exam I did last year. Was 2 hours long and with the amount of calculations you had to do, it was just too long without risking permanent injury to your hand from writing at an obscene level. I dont think many people finished it. I thought I only finished about 70% of the exam and thought even if I did really well id be pushing it. Ended up 2 marks off a HD and laughed for about 20 minutes after finding out.

I had a shitter of an exam last week, hopefully I get scaled up for that. Have a market research exam tomorrow which involves answering 5 essays in 3 hours. Again, gonna be a shitter.

I find the latest batch of Foxtel channels (except for Eurosport, though bar the arm wrestling and handball seems to be a near carbon copy of ESPN) to be utter crap. The new Sky News local is very poor (most of yesterday all it showed was a Mike Rann inteview), and the new Weather Active (on The Weather Channel) was all bluff as it didn't eventuate for some reason.

New movies is good.

MTV to **** off away from music is good.

Comedy changing channels = **** you

What they need is fox footy back.
100% agree. And why do we have to pay extra for the HD channels? Surely if we have a HD TV, that would be enough. It's not like we don't pay shit loads already for the service FFS!

Yep there sure is (depending on the department). In the first semester for statistics, I got about 40% for the assignments (weighted at 15% overall) and absolutely flunked the exam (truth be told it was an absolute **** of an exam) and walked out sure I wouldn't even get a supp. The rest of the class felt the same way, but come results time, pretty much everyone passed - I got exactly 50% much to my amazement.

By 3:30pm tomorrow, I will be finished uni forever (wish me luck :)).

Am I the only one that finds the movie channels on Foxtel a complete waste of space. Once I got over the novelty of ad free movies, I think I could count on one hand the number of times I've actually sat down and watched a movie on any of the movie channels in the past 10-12 years (my DVD collection more than covers my movie fix).

Hence I don't have the movie channels on Foxtel.
