I had a run in with two of them on the MB in a thread about Leon being sacked because we should be beating every side by 20 goals. They tried to tag me to the bay as was done today as well. I think that's part of it.
I also think maybe the Swans, some of them, are getting genuinely resentful. This is the first season we're doing better and I guess that's inevitable.

Yep i think they are worried.

However i think the fact they are breaking all records and storming towards finals has also made them very arrogant

Every loss is a big nail in the coffin though, they might make it. I dont hate them as a whole but we got the wrong posters today I think. We need a win, :D they're just gonna have to accept that when we do.

Anyone play in the fantasy leagues?
I'm considering it as I dont mind the cut and thrust, but dont really know what it's about. Would be grateful for a clue?

I play SC, AFLF, UF and 4 keeper leagues on a specialist site, what are you looking for?

Shows my ignorance, I dont know any of them. I get invutes to various, most recent was the sweet FA board that I'm seriously considering. Does that mean anything to you?

Different type of fantasy altogether.
SC is Supercoach run on the Herald Sun site, the most revered of comps.
AFLF is a dumbed down version run on the AFL site
UF is Ultimate Fantasy, except it isn't really, two different scoring formats none ideal and noob allergic.
tooserious is a site where I am an admin and is all about (long term keeper) fantasy leagues.
SFA is BF's home grown fantasy comp. in all others the footy is the focus, in the SFA (I have been a player for a number of years) it's a completely illegitimate representation of the AFL where members get to be players and are simulcast into games. In reality it's a banter focused player involvement model that works pretty well.

Tks that helps. I kinda get supercoach and it doesn't interest me much. I now have a kinda handle on it. Just one follow up if I can. What does "simulcast into games" mean?

Catching a 12:19 train from Penrith to the footy today General Giant and the guard announcement was 10/10. Talk about engaging and enthusiastic! Called us beautiful people and complimented the driver . Felt like we had a tour guide on board. Good job!
Must be a newbie lol

Just watching a replay of Offsiders on iView and as usual Roy Masters is being a pillock rubbishing claims by (he said Toby Green) that rugby league is in trouble in Western Sydney because of the inroads the Giants are making. It's Roy, I don't really care.

Then the idiot sitting next to him, who I've never seen before, chimes in with "Not if their crowds are anything to go by. Very poor"

Just for reference - average home attendance of Sydney based football teams for so far in 2017

Sydney Swans: 32,126
Roosters: 18,406
Parramatta: 14,809
Canterbury: 14,742
Manly: 13,293
GWS GIANTS: 13,120
Cronulla: 12,711
Penrith: 12,553
St George: 12,533
Wests Tigers: 12,491
South Sydney: 11,918

So, higher than the current premiers and only two western Sydney based teams ahead of us - one that's been around for 70 years and the other with 84 years to build a base - and they're only getting 16/17 hundred more than us. And how many "local derbies" are in those figures?

We are comfortably holding our own in the marketplace.

But that, I suppose, doesn't fit a Victorian narrative.

I have a feeling that GWS (and particularly GWS crowd sizes) get the same treatment as climate change data does by climate change sceptics.

I was in a bit of a twitter exchange earlier today about the ANZ stadium upgrade (and sorry Tony, the stadium is crap; make it rectangular and upgrade Spotless) and some idiot thought rugby union was ahead of AFL in the four code stakes (???) so I started quoting figures and the response was "I always take GWS crowd figures with a grain of salt. I've been to Wanderers Games there and the numbers are lower but there are more people."

No matter how many paying customers attend, no matter how many members we sign up, no matter how well we do off the ground there will be a core of people who won't believe the numbers because of.... whatever.

the Toffees, the Bays.
So, the team isn't travelling that smartly, and there's no doubt that the injury list has been unsettling to team cohesion.
But how much does our tough draw factor in?
We seem to have hit some teams as their form peaked (Carlton, St. Kilda), difficult away games (Crows first up, Tasmania twice), and the teams we do play twice are all contenders. Our last 4 games are knife edge, which is how most of our games have been played this year.
It's been a different viewing experience. Gone are the flowing waves of the orange tsunami, enter the blow for blow approach and come -from-behind- steals.

The AFL site rated our draw the toughest in the comp of anyone at the start of the year, considering our double matchups, short breaks and travel. Richmond were our easy match up and they haven't followed the script.
Last year we were lucky, we started with an easier draw because we weren't finalists in 2015 and our tough matchup was Freo who fell off a cliff. We will always get the Swans twice and they are never easy.
It's partly the challenge you get for finishing top 4 and I'm not sure it's a bad thing.
We're in a position to end the year well, but now is the time it has to happen.
As for the Tsunami we just aren't running the ball the way we were and that's tactical to me. I can't recall the last time I saw Wilson or Shiel " shake and bake" from the back half to initiate run and I miss it.
