Well theres no rules

What do u want a guidebook to romance :p

Ur pretty vague with the details
YES PLEASE ON THE GUIDEBOOK.

Haha I'm joking. It's just exciting I guess, my ex and I broke up over half a year ago because there wasn't any 'deeper' connection. Now I meet a guy who I've seen (thrice!) in under a week and I've never felt like anyone understands me as much as he does after such little time.

He's going back to England in a week or two (plane ticket booked pre meeting me), so at this stage he's considering going back for a month then coming to again Sydney to be with me and start a career here. Or I'm tempted to go to England after I graduate. I don't know. It just feels silly because I'm so highly logical, to be this impulsive and serious after such little time makes me think I'm being ridiculous.

Not that this is relevant to me at all  but do you guys think it's possible to find the kind of mental and emotional connection with someone that makes you fall in love with them in a week? And vice versa?

I'm possibly the most cynical person in the world that believes it's infatuation and lust but I'm seriously re-evaluating my initial scepticism.

Certainly possible to fall in love with someone in a week. Whether there is a connection is for time to decide.

I think it's vice versa. I think that whether or not you have that connection is instantaneous, whether or not you love that person is dictated by time.

I grew to love my ex after being with him, but there was no connection there (not to be confused with chemistry) from day 1. You either have it or you don't. Each to their own I think :p

Are you sure it's not just because of his british accent ? :p haha

In all seriousness, obviously try and enjoy the next week or two with him as much as possible but don't get too attached! I reckon there are certain personalities which just click straight away and if the circumstances are appropriate then they blossom to a special connection or instant connection etc.

However, you guys should re-evaluate your positions once he gets back to England because anything could pop up while he is over there and then make your decisions whether you want to take it further or not :). My tip is don't get too attached too quickly and enjoy the time you have right now ;). I hope it works out well for you :)

The British accent... ahh. (Be still, my beating heart!) I'm losing more arguments than I normally would! Everything just sounds so eloquent and well thought out with it!

Wonderful advice coming from someone who's team is anyone playing against England! Hahaha.

How do you know it was not the other way around? i.e. Maybe you loved him from the start and found there was no lasting connection?

Either way it doesn't matter. As Keynes said 'in the long run we're all dead'.
Enjoy each moment for what it is.

Board feels on edge tonight...

Everyone should chill and watch Hotplate
Between the D&M in here and the full on attempts at infighting on the club board it's all a bit much for a Monday night. I'm just looking forward to the "Where are Collingwood at?" discussions on the various shows tonight. Maybe a bit of "Hawthorn are thugs" for good measure. Got some interesting decisions to make work wise myself within the next 24 hours and I think ignoring them might help
