One thing that never changes when attending a game v Richmond is the amount of scungy merchandise being worn by their army, hand knitted scarfs in desperate need of a wash, old beanies and caps pre decimal currency vintage, ridiculous yellow wigs, tiger print onesies, mullet wigs, the list goes on :p

this is the Arc Light Memorial in Guam (on the air force base). i was lucky as a kid to go inside of it (my father was a B-52 nav).
this youtube clip was taken at the airport there
you need to be there in person to hear the sound of the plane.

Way back in '88 a mate and I jumped on an overnight bus to Sydney then trained it out to Richmond Air Base for the Bicentennial Air Show.

There was a B-52 flyby scheduled for late in the afternoon. Exactly on time it appeared over the mountain range and did a low slow cruise past, big turn then cruised past again on it's way back home........ all the way to Guam. Apparently eight hours flying each way for about three minutes on show and never touched the ground. Absolutely awesome to see and hear up close in flight, and that was just going slow!!!

The Avalon Airshow this year was unreal in terms of the military aircraft display.

The US Airforce flew a heap of planes over including a B-52, and some lovely warbirds. The RAAF supplied heaps of really cool stuff (Super Hornets, 737 Wedgetail, C17 globemaster), Qantas had a 737 in the old livery, Singapore supplied F-16's. It was unbelievable.

I would recommend a day at Avalon when the airshow is on to everyone!!

Here's a story, I have a bet going with a couple of work colleagues about who could get the most views on a Youtube video we all posted. The only catch was that it had to be a video we happened to have on our phone at that given moment. After scouring through a huge amount of crap I've filmed over the years, this is what I came up with.

Help me to win a slab off these fools (one is a * supporter) and simply view this stunning video of a cat behind a curtain.

Cheers,
Mr. B

You owe me one of those beers and 64 seconds of my life.
