The Bye has been great. Reminds me a little of that first massive release of the main vein when your out and about on the piss.

Let me explain.......

The start of the season is always like the build up to big night out on the weekend, you wait all week, putting up with shit at work, family etc, but the whole focus on getting through the week is for Saturday night. Similarly, the long grind of the off season, clinging to any training reports, practice matches all your energy is focused towards round 1.

So Saturday Night finally comes around, your pumped, wake up Saturday and its on, arrange pre drinks and the whole day flies because your just so pumped, similarly with round 1, the nerves, that buzzing feeling you get when you look and finally the day has come its game day. Might catch up with some mates before the game over a few beers, but regardless on the way to both your just up and about.

However sometimes things don't always go to plan, like your mates too pissed to get in or the kunts on the door knock you back for some stupid reason, likewise with north, we got absolutely humiliated and didn't turn up, it wasn't looking good, but always something happens.

You try the joint down the road, get in with you and your boys and its alright, just starting to build up, down a few drinks and your travelling not too bad and the night gets going, similarly like the bulldogs game, we turned up but it was meh, pretty average performance but it got us going.

Then all of a sudden something out of no where happens, like same amazing chick walks past and gives you a little smile or the bartender gives you a free drink or charges you only half of usual price, they way port were going based on the dogs performance, looked like we were in trouble, but to the boys credit we got it together and they put a performance that probably none of us at the time were expecting, we are back up and about now.

Then things just seem to get on a roll, that girl you've been messaging or keen on happens to walk past and say hello, or one of your mates comes up trumps with the next round when its your shout, we finally knocked off the swannies curse and we were seemingly on a roll, we looked and felt a million bucks, it was looking good.

But then your mate being an idiot gets himself kicked out or you have to put him/her in a cab home because they're done for the night and it just takes the edge off your roll. That collingwood game took the wind out of our sails and brought us crashing back to earth, but the issues seemed fixable and despite a little flogging our confidence and energy wasn't completely sapped.

So you head back inside and the joint is jumping, beers are flowing and my god its going off, your back to that real happy state and your feeling grouse. That Fremantle win was just superb, everything clicked and we got another monkey off our back, people were dancing down arden street and as a supporter group we were up and about.

But then some wanker spills his drink on the shirt you bought especially for the weekend and you head to the toilet to clean up and its time for the first pit stop. That first quarter against gold coast needs to be flushed, was horrible.

So here you are at the Urinal, looking side to side to see if anyone famous is taking a slash beside you and your reflecting on the night so far, its been good in patches but meh in others. Pretty much like our start, consistency is the key.

You wash your hands and check the hair, heading out with the hope the next phase of your night will be better, hopefully that girl you're keen on comes up and chats some more, or you can get the attention of that cutie that walked past at the start. Hopefully the second phase of our season produces the goods.

You walk up to the bar, grab a drink and just let the night take you.

P.s No drug references please, the last thing you want is ASADA doing a check when your blind and we at North Melbourne promote a sensible party atmosphere.

P.P.S Happy Mothers Day to all you sexy mothers out there, much love.

Hoping someone can help me.. I am planning on driving over to Adelaide with the missus and kid for our game against the crows on the 14th June. I have never attended a interstate game, so don’t know the best way to go about getting tickets.

Is there a way I can book tickets through the club, so that I can sit with some North supporters? We are all 11 home game members, so am trying to avoid purchasing general admin tickets through ticketmaster and sitting in the middle of 40,000 crows fans.

Have never attended an interstate game before, so not up to speed with how it all works.

Not sure if it's been posted here, but the Napthine Govt has just granted a $11m upgrade of the Ballarat soccer stadium, so it is able to host Bahrain's training base for the Asian Cup in 2015, with enclosed seating etc.

This is not Eureka, the rectangle field up the road.

Bad news.

I love the round ball game, but that is a complete and utter f**** waste of taxpayer cash.

Struggling to find the point of it. Hopefully he is gone by the years end......total nonce.

Love Andrew Swallow but I cringe a lot of the times when I watch or listen to his interviews. He has a big case of the "y'knows". Hope he sounds better when he's geeing up the boys in the middle.

Consecutive games played
1. Drew Petrie - 74
2. Ryan Bastinac - 65
3. Shaun Atley - 54
4. Todd Goldstein - 46
5. Sam Gibson - 43

Was afforded one of the greatest opportunities. Filled the void of mature running midfielders, took his chance and ran with it.

Went into the Victory Room for a pre-game catch up and two of the guests listed for pre-game interviews were Tom Curran and the Yeti. Neither was sighted.

I've got used to Tom not playing, but not even turning up for the interview. Don't tell me he's strained his larynx.

Rumours doing the rounds in the VR were that Spud was having a rest and Fishy had tweaked a hamstring.
