Its really mild night in Sydney. I've just finished listening to Nick Cave's new album - The Skeleton Tree...
First time I've ever heard a Cave album without his usual swagger, as to be expected after the death of his son. Its an emotional listen.

Been a good day today. Lightning Premiership for the school I teach at today. Small school so we have Years 2-6 playing against other schools who have Year 5's and 6's. Coached Netball and my kids won 4 of 5 games. Then Hawks get done. If we win tomorrow, this weekend will be right up there.

9/11 anniversary today. Always an emotional one for me thinking of my cousin who was working in one of the towers and miraculously escaped before the second plane hit. She is now the mother of twin boys. I don't know if there is a God, but sometimes we just have to be grateful for what we have. In this crazy world, every day we manage to survive is a miracle.

She is now the mother of twin boys. I don't know if there is a God, but sometimes we just have to be grateful for what we have. In this crazy world, every day we manage to survive is a miracle.

Situations like that do put things into perspective though, don't they. Is losing to a talented side in GWS really worth the complete meltdowns and vitriol when so much bad shit is happening to decent people around the world. Don't get me wrong, I hate our boys losing and I get as shitty about it as others, but the reality is, it could be much worse.
