Microwave just caught on fire, kinda lucky I didn't walk out of the room.

Scared On Fire GIF by SpongeBob SquarePants

For anyone who remembers I posted about this mini-city on the Swan River several months ago asking the question of just what the heck it was, I recently did some research and learned that yes, this is one property. It's three separate residences (the two Tuscan-style buildings at the front, and the larger one built into the cliff behind) on the one estate. All owned by the same family I believe.

As I mentioned at the time, the homes around it are all easily in the $6-8mill+ range. The white house next to it sold for $8mill, and the house up on the hill in the right-hand corner sold for $17mill. Now I'm no real-estate expert but looking at this property (which is like if the Hanging Gardens of Babylon came to Perth), you have a four-level house, a three-level house and a two-level house. Aerial shots show it has a pool and a tennis court. Entry onto the property from two different streets and levels. River frontage. Boat storage. And presumably a shit load of parking space. Enormous subdivision potential. In Perth's golden triangle. If this property were to go on the market individually, it would surely have to set a national record wouldn't it?

Every time I sail past it I am just in awe. Photos do not do justice to how incredible it looks when going past it on the river.

It's going to be interesting what happens in the coming years. Sooner or later the parents will pass and the kids will be fielding offers the likes of which will set them up for life.

Yep! Generational wealth makes me feel physically ill but I also can't begrudge the benefactors of it for being born LOL.

These family compounds for the mega-rich are way more common than I realised. There's a street two suburbs away from the above property ^ called Jutland Parade and all of the worst people you could meet (Gina Rinehart, Kerry Stokes, the Sultan of Brunei) live or own properties on it. Has about 50 houses on the riverfront side of it and about 15 of them belong to 2 or 3 families. Real-life Monopoly!

Far out. The last thing I ever wanted was to live close to my family LOL At least, not THAT close. I could see it when parents get older 100% makes sense, but younger. Oof that's a big no.

I just picture these big, important executives of these big, important companies still needing to pop down the driveway to ask mum & dad if they have any milk or sugar they can borrow!

It’s not at phobia levels, but I am uncomfortable in winds…. can’t sit in front of a fan or AC unit regardless of how hot it is.

Is it just me or has Sydney become the Windy City over the last year or so? Every f***** day!

This time of year always very windy, you can practically set your clock by it.

Early this morning it cracked 76km at our place. Woke up everyone. Then a power pole cracked & fell over on Canterbury road due to wind and traffic all over Bankstown was a freaking horror story.

I had beans for breakfast.

I do not apologize.

It was glorious though.

Officially selected for next year's Men's Sabre World Cup...

Holy moly

Unfortunately Fencing is a minor sport in Australia so whilst it is a full professional sporting event, I am expected to pay my own way (Flights and accommodation).

Because of this I'm currently looking for support, to assist with flights, travel and equipment costs (if I can find a way I will also attempt a few satellite competitions and go for an Olympic qualifying run).

I have set up a fundraiser with the Australian Sporting Foundation (completely tax deductible as well!), if anyone would be happy to assist that would be massive for myself.

You can find this here :) - Sam Bonser Fencing Season

(No pressure or anything on donations here, aware financial climate is a bit broken 😂)

I'm also looking for sponsors now and a good performance dietitian if anyone has any suggestions!

Have you tried contacting the airlines and seeing if they'll comp you flights?

I'd chip in but Jewelsbon took everything I own in the divorce.

PS: Make sure you stab them with the pointy end.
