42 years ago I was in the the middle of the front row watching The Little River Band.
Next day I had to work and was so sick that even phones ringing hurt my head. I threw up just before going home.
You must have been sick as a dog!
I saw LRB at NSW Uni when they were Mississippi in about 1973. Preferred people like Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee, Chain and the like. 4 weeks ago saw John Schumann (Redgum) and The Vagabond Crew at the Camelot Lounge doing "The Redgum Years".

I used to hang around my big brother like a bad smell. He took me with him to see Roy Orbison in 1967( I think) at Festival Hall.

I saw most of the big Australian bands at this music festival on the north Coast of NSW.
Werrikimbe State forest. It was on a private property. Around 1984 give or take.
Every big band from Aussie was there except Midnight Oil. They wanted to do a protest about something environmental. Organisers said No.
The stage was down on the flat part. All the crowd were on a hill overlooking the stage. It was unreal. 3 days of music.
i think 10am to 10pm.
Lots of drugs and drug implements on sale. I wasn't into that.
Me and my mate pitched our tent where there was no one around. Could not believe no one was camping there.
Went and watched the first days performances. Then came back to our tent which wasn't there anymore. It was blown away by the wind. Overlooking us was this bikie gang laughing their guts out.
Anyway they let us hang around with them.
The highlight was Cold Chisel and Jimmy was sculling some alcohol while singing and was climbing up the stage scaffolding and singing up there.
Was a huge weekend.

When I was 13 I saw the Stones at Memorial Drive in 73.
My sister saw the Stones with me, Cat Stevens and Gary Glitter.
I also saw T Rex at Apollo stadium with my oldest friend, Bolan was such an entertainer for younger kids.
In the late 70s I saw Graham Parker, Elvis Costello & the attractions, Police and The Stranglers all between 1978-80. (By this time I was playing guitar in a band)

Sharpies only came to the fore at the last one in 75 , where they stopped you bringing your own booze in , so it was beer tents with caused sharpies and bikies to clash and it pissed down rain . Glad i never went to that one

There is a documentary on Sunbury that's worth a look. Think it was the first year. Broderick Smith and Carson are in it, among others, and, surprisingly to me, Johnny O'Keefe is the last act.

Random thought: I hate it when I pull a book off the bookshelf that I have been meaning to read for years and years and I start reading it and it is fantastic! I think, why did I take so long?!! Just started reading Everything flows by Grossman and am feeling the prick of that regret.
