I know. What a complete bastard I am! Funny thing is, she then handed me a note to say they are having Friday and next Wednesday off to go on another trip over the cup day weekend, oh and leaving early today and Wednesday to do hair and make up for her dance photos. No wonder the kid struggles.

What do you do when a kid is being a little shit?

Motto in the class is, if you waste my teaching time, I'll waste your play time. Seems to work pretty well. On the whole the kids behave in the classroom. It's out in the playground they have issues because there is not the constant close monitoring and no strict guidelines to follow. Many kids nowadays fall apart without the structure that a classroom provides and as a result get into arguments over rules of games etc.

Yeah it's pretty messed up the pressure those kids get put under. Would hate to see our education system get to a point of being as high pressured as that. Problem is, at the moment, many parents in Australia don't see education as a higher priority anymore and certainly don't look at the profession of teaching with the respect they use to. Kids are putting in less effort as they know that there will be no repercussions at home if they don't get stuff done. Parents are also more likely to come in finger pointing and blaming without realising their own child might be a liar or the cause of an issue. Kids are so good at playing the emotions of their over anxious parents but many of the parents are too dumb to realise their little angel is manipulating them.
