It was really disgusting to see a Facebook post by Channel (fill in the blank, but pretty sure it was Channel 9) going on about mental health with the Lifeline/Beyond Blue telephone number, while they had probably 3 cameras outside his house waiting to get 'Breaking News'.

For me its more what do you say, their other son died already before a transplant now his brother got a transplant and is here, just sucks and their dad is a non involved prick with money who wont give them anything

I'm not great at saying the right thing either - tend to turn to mush.

If I were in your shoes I'd probably do something like send them a hamper and a card to say they're in your thoughts and you'll be there for them if they need you.

Just know it is cliche to say when bad things happen to good people around you but everyone make sure you cherish your loved ones and also your own life, enjoy it everyday because there are people who dont get the chance too

I passed a convoy of about 6 interstate 4WDs heading into my little town yesterday morning.

When I met those same people later in the afternoon, a woman was a widow, her teenage son no longer had a Dad and everyone else had lost a mate.

A colleague at work has lost her father, brother and two aunties in the space of 18 months, mum has developed dementia and sister in law has just been diagnosed with cancer. She is a very religious woman but even has her questioning her faith.

Also have a father of a student who has been diagnosed with 8 inoperable brain tumours 12 months after getting the all clear after surviving stage 4 stomach cancer. The kids not even 12. Makes me grateful for every day I get to share with my olds. It's why going to the footy with my mum an grandfather has been such valued time.

I really feel for you all. I hope you all have some support. Big or small. Be it an annon poster on an online forum or 20 close family/friends all clambering to help.

FWIW I feel that we are a great community on here & I count you regular posters as friends. We interact & talk more than I do with many other irl friends & family. I really appreciate the outlet this board has provided me the last few years & I hope it helps you when times are tough going too.
