Can be a supporter for life and a member for only a short part of it though.

I know coming from the country I never bought a membership until I moved to the city and then had to get through Uni to afford it but I was a hardcore bloods fan from the early-mid 90s onwards however only a member since 2007 (lapsed in 09 then re-joined 2010).

I do see your point. Those members who supported the club through the dark days should be rewarded before others. There is a basis to quantify and verify their support.

However I'd hate to ignore non-member contributions just because they aren't members (or only for a short time).

E.g. back home there was an old lady that went for the dogs and used to organize "dog days" lunches for her street/area. She'd put on a BBQ and provided soft drinks etc and deck the rotunda at the park near her place out in red/blue/white and try to get people on board. I know for a fact she was never a member but I'm sure her contribution to the club in bringing on board others was worth just as much (if not more) than a decade or so of members fees. She's probably responsible for at the very least a handful of modern day supporters (who likely all pay members fees) - Who may not have chosen the dogs without her. I don't think someone like that should be excluded from being rewarded. Even if they are only a short term "member" as such.

I was just being an old fart

I know what your son is going through bedford having had open fractures to both my legs myself. Hope he recovers well, it can be a battle itself realizing you can't do a lot of the simple things like walking as easily as I once could.
And he's only 19.

Anyone made a move before

Not a massive move but been offered a huge opportunity in the Sunshine Coast for work

I am totally over Melbourne and the push push don't pay builders

The missses is so family orientated it's not funny so she is against it

The Sunshine Coast is at most a 3 hour flight to Melb, unless you're having dinner/lunch with them every single day...

Do you like the Sunshine Coast? Is it for a few years or months?
Personally, I only moved to SG because i'd regret it 50 years from now that I didn't do it...

Sounds awesome!

Sell it to her as a 2 year holiday :)

Tough one, if it provides a good income for your family that is a plus, but the wife has to agree to it first
