This appears to be the oldest thread on the main board which lines up with the story I've heard about BF being started by an American who ran bigsoccer.com in the states.

Sadly after leading most of the day , we lost in extra time by a point

Last night i lost one of my greatest friends growing up , Dennis and i were in the cheer squad together and we made the banners in those days went around around the fences behind the goals etc . Every Friday night we would be in the rooms making the race for the players to run through and our biggest was the 1970 1st semi , what a thrill to be out on the ground that day at the G. Every weekend growing up was following South and in the summer playing cricket in 2 premierships together .

Shared moments are so precious.
For me and my Mum that was our first ever final, with tickets my Mum won from the Sun newspaper on 5th September 1970.
