Our structures have been letting us down all season. Maybe the players aren't sticking to the structures because they know that they don't work. If it is the case that players aren't doing what the coach is asking of them there will be some major changes to our team for this weeks game. But the worst things of all this season are our presssure, zoning and tackling. Last year when the ball entered our forward 50 it would take the opposition a hell of a lot of work to get it out. This year it goes in and comes straight out. And it's the opposite for our defence; we can't get it out. Unfortuantely the main reason for this is that our whole game plan is based on one player, Sandi
On the other topic how many times have our own players gone up for a pack mark with Fyfe and knocked the ball out of his hands. Mcphee is one of the worst culprits, he is utterly stupid. Always comes mindlessly crashing through packs risking serious injury to our own players in a vein effort to take a mark which he always drops. Our own players should know by now that if Fyfe is anywhere near a contested marking situation to leave him to go for it alone or shepherd other players out of the way.
Statistically this year Fyfe is 7th in the entire AFL for contested marks in his second season. What is even more amazing is the players ahead of him (Cloke, Petrire, J Pod, Mcevoy, Cox and Kennedy) are an average of 6 years older than him and are all either Key Position players or Ruckman. Fyfe is a demi god.
Our communication on the field is nowhere near up to scratch. Most of our injuries are a result of friendly fire.
