I saw him roost a drop punt close to 50 metres for an after-the-siren goal (it was half time) during very heavy conditions one day - when he was a 12 year old.

Is funny how the AFL community consider a guy like Thornton to be a great young defender, when Firrito is the same age, and performed a heck of alot better for the amount of game hes played.

Firrito is that much better than Thornton it is not funny.

Nice to see the Kangas supporters appreciate 'Spud' (Gembrook is 'famous' for it's potato farms, I reckon half the blokes that have played for the Brookers were known as 'Spud')

Like I said in the OP, not only is he having a very solid year, successfully taking on more responsibility, I reckon he still has improvement in him.
When Hansen is big enough to hold down CHB and Brown or Watt or someone else locks down FB, allowing Firrito to be released to a HBF or a wing, he will have an even greater impact on games for the Roos ...

For a guy who is playing out of position, and out of his weight division, he is actually doing a creditable job. But then, we know who you support, and the comedy never seems to run dry. Keep up the magic.
