I haven't had a great deal of time to take notice of pre-season form this year but if there are any glaring deficiencies in this side it would be good to know.

Thanks guys

Just my opinion, but your backline looks a bit weak as does mine. But the added benefit you have is the cash in the bank

my latest side:

B - Enright, Carrazzo, Fisher, Hodge, Shaw, Malceski, Waters, [Maguire, Trengove]
M - Bartel, Gibbs, Kornes, M.McVeigh, Martin, Barlow, [Banner, Shuey]
R - Cox, Charman, [Warnock, Lobbe]
F - Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Pavlich, Harvey, Franklin, Dangerfield, Rockliff, [Gumbleton, Dennis-Lane]

appreciate any thoughts

I like it, seems to be different from the norm.

Just a couple of thoughts, Kane Cornes; Do i recall choco saying he'd be playing a lot up forward this year? Something to consider. And I would think Charman is a pretty big risk too.

Pretty Good! I think McVeigh is good value I looked at him. If anything i think you could maybe downgrade Cox, would give you a bit of money elsewhere. Just my opinion.

If I were you I'd turn Ladson into Greenwood and Pods into Hitchcock. Who's this Banner in your rucks?

here is my lineup so far, have changed it quite a few times since I registered February 1st. Thoughts anyone ?

I agree with all your above points. It's just annoying to spend the off-season researching, planning, spreadsheeting etc, only to find that I could have just waited until a week before the first lockout to come here and get a team made for me.

That's life I guess!

For sure! But the truth is, any player looking like having some potential will no longer fly under the radar like the might of a few years ago - these players get noticed now due to the wealth of information around regarding DT, etc.

However, I will also make this one last point - I feel that those who understand their team/players, do the research and really put the work in to get a solid knowledge of a player will perform better than someone who just picks a player due to their hype/popularity.

Didn't Ziebell & Burgoyne suffer injury setbacks in the past week ?

BACKS:
Gram - Enright - Doughty - H. Shaw - Harbrow - Birchall - Kennelly
Webberley - Silvagni

MIDFIELD:
Bartel - Cooney - Ball - M. McVeigh - Trengove - Martin
Barlow - Jetta

RUCKS:
Clark - Hampson
Warnock - Skipper

FORWARDS:
N. Riewoldt - Higgins - Franklin - Gray - Hall - Ziebell - Warren
Hitchcock - Podsiadly

$800 left over and i won't be changing my team again (barring injury).

Any thoughts?

DBAHO:

Ablett and Bartel, not 100% sold on those two as your main two goto players. They are both insane players but perhaps hedge your bets a little. Maybe grab another premium in another side (Say Ablett to Swannie) or Bartel to Kornes, Mitchell. I just prefer to have a spread when paying such a high price for a player rather than both in the Geelong basket (Bad run of form, injuries etc).

Ziebell in your midfield? I think theres better value. I would only consider in your forwards? Perhaps instead of Maybe.

Ottens worries me abit in your rucks.

Dennis - Lane injured? I heard he had some injury setback and wont play early.

Rest looks fairly standard for the boards.

Solid backs.

Midfield similar to most on these boards.

Hampson in the rucks? What do you see his role this year? Do you see him playing 22 games? Do you see him improving on his 53ppg average? I think hes risky to start on the field.

Forwards is your gamble and im sure you know that.
Higgins has had injury problems in the past, Franklin is susp round 1 and likely further this year, Gray, Ziebell and Warren all pose some risk and Dangerfield as well. I would be a little worried about posting some donuts in this area week in week out. So keep an eye on these players and ensure your happy with your strategy

Thanks for your thoughts mate :thumbsu:

I really like the look of Hampson and with Kruezer reportedly spending more time up forward i think he will play 22 games barring injury. With increased game time/development i think he may bump his average significantly to say 70 odd; not great i know but solid nevertheless. Having Hampson makes it important to have Warnock on the pine IMO and i've done that.

Definitely a gamble with the forward line but if Ziebell can stay injury free i don't really see him as a gamble at all. Gray, Hall and Warren yes however i think they're all very good players who should play 22 games barring injury. I expect that 1 but no more than 2 of these 4 selections may backfire. I'm hoping this won't be too bad considering there is going to be a weakness in everyone's side somewhere.

Taking into account what you said Decipher (and despite the fact i said i wasn't making changes lol):

Ablett (C) - Dangerfield + $8,200 left.

OR

Bartel (C) - Hall + $800 left.

Which would you prefer?

Actually having Hampson and then Warnock on bench is not too bad an idea. Personally I dont think Hampson is much of a scorer and don't think he will avg the 70 that you said. But he may actually play a fair bit of ruck time...

You're probably right but he averages 53 ppg now and with increased game time/development i don't think an increase of 17 ppg is out of the question. Time will tell :thumbsu:

i like the 1st one.

Ablett and Bartel you cant split may as well flip a coin.
and i think Dangerfield has more scoring potential than hall. I dont like the fact hall kicked 6 goals on the weekend and only scored 77. Id run with Ablett and Dangerfield

On 50% game time on a team like the Hawks, who are a fair decent team. In addition it was his first hitout in almost a good 6-7 months. Imagine wat he'l do to a team like Melbourne/Richmonda with a full game and when he's conditioning is 80-100%. Lock

Hey guys, I'm looking for a guy 330,000and under. Any tips? They are plenty of good players, it's hard to choose.
