Soz for the simplistic question but why does Cloke score so high? He has hardly the impact of a few years ago. His conversion rate is atrocious for a forward of his caliber. I don't want to pinpoint but inaccuracy of the forward line ( with him as major focal point ) has cost us a few matches . They also won a few when the radar was on but overall their output is in the red.

I say Current Form on what I read

I have based it on current form to show just how many players we have that have the potential for significant improvement. There are a lot of people who believe we have a bright future. I don't necessarily disagree with that but also believe a lot has to go right for that to occur next season.

I agree that Cloke's form has been average. His rating of B- is based mostly on his importance to the structure of the team. That rating could certainly decline next season.

Heres my take:

Fasolo: C : fasolo has tried a lot harder this year but hie accuracy in front of goal has dropped dramatically. Needs work but has improved.
Dwyer: D : Not AFL standard. Good VFL and may be last year.
Macaffer: D : Been injured bit not in Pies future. Trade or delist.
Grundy: C : Has great potential BUT who is the ruck coach? poorly coached. Please tap to our players is all that's needed. Simple. Needs to take 10 marks around the ground to be effective. Good endurance but time will tell if he is a future STAR or not. Jury is out.
Elliott: A : Elite player down on form and I don't believe is happy with the structures or game plan that is making life hard for him. The delivery in to him is slow and inaccurate. Its affecting his confidence but can he complain to coach ? I think not.
Goldsack: D : Almost finished. Not in future plans I would think.
Kennedy: D : Not shown enough but is young and requires 8 games in a row to gain confidence. Needs tricks but jury is out.
Langdon: C : Started well but is now looking slow and getting caught a lot. Needs to speed up his play and hit a team mate. Has regressed.
White: D : Should be played at CHB. A straight ahead guy I believe who has all attributes to spoil and run. Poor coaching again.
Pendlebury: A : Down year but a top player. Has butchered the ball this year and made a lot of skill errors but still elite when on song.
Blair: C : Just a player, but effective in a great side. We need to trade him,
Scharenberg: D : has been injured and jury is out. Could be anything or nothing.
Adams: C : nuggetty but NOT elite and IMHO wont be elite due to poor kicking and awareness.
Young: D : Finished
Witts: C : Jury is out. lumbering and slow but may be a Sandilands type or could be average at best. Jury out
Brown: B : Reasonable year and great trier but limited skills and best has been seen.
Marsh: D : Huge upside but jury is out.
Varcoe: A: Potential Copeland Medallist. Highly skilled and has added grunt. I was against this trade but proved me wrong.
Greenwood: D : injured and coming back. Similar to Adams lacks skills that make him elite.
Reid: Not durable so to me trade. Durability = unreliable to me. Simple.
Freeman: - Ungraded as injured
Sidebottom: B : Average year but game plan not helping him. Should play as half forward as can score.
Keeffe: - Not graded but limited with skills for mine.
Thomas: - As above
Crisp: B : Really good young player who could be elite. Just needs experience and a tank. Time will give that.
Williams: B : As above
Armstrong: D: Finished
Sinclair: C : Not good enough. Simple.
Broomhead: C : big upside but time will tell if he works hard for it or not.
Moore: C: As above with MORE upside. Could be a top 5 player in AFL. I think he will.
Ramsay: C : Really clever player with skills. Needs time. Jury out though.
Cloke: A : Always double teamed due to poor game plan. Colossus pack mark. game plan killing him.
Karnezis: D : Trade
Toovey: D : Atrocious skills. Shouldn't be in the side but we lack experience so he is in.
De Goey: C: I see a lot of upside and like MOORE could be elite.
Swan: A : Great year but disposal still poor and getting a bit worse.
Maynard: D : Lost of potential and may be great but jury is out.
Goodyear: F : Poor year.
Seedsman: D : Great potential but a lot of coaching required here. Id keep him.
Oxley: D : Good potential but not sure of skill ceiling. Jury is out.
Gault: F : Finished
Frost: C : Needs to learn to mark when he can and spoil when he can but great speed and has a lot of upside. Poorly coached in my view.

The caching to me is poor. Not so much the head coach, but the assistant coaches.
I cannot understand why Anthony Rocca is a coach. Hasn't got a high football IQ in my view.

Jury is out on Bucks....says all the right things but we have gone backwards while he speaks well. One more year and finals or he gets reviewed

The side thing I take from this excercise is that my ratings were as dumb as anyone's.

The main thing I've taken from this is that given a chance some will, use whatever they can to whack our coach on the way through.
No mercy, no redeeming features just whack

The thing I find interesting is that we perennially over rate our list. We have very few truly elite players apart from Pendles.

Swan was a terrific player and has had a good second half of the year but is no longer in the elite class.

I won't go through the entire list but Toovey, Fasolo are below average along with a host of others which are rated as average by others.

That's where our list is at. We desperately need some class injected into the team - Scharenberg, Freeman, Treloar, Aish et al come on down
